Hey!

I'm back in New York City.

11 days until the "Return to Merkin Concert Hall"!

What an amazing week I just spent playing a gig down in Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo, Mexico! (Actually, it really was a week-long gig, in which I was asked to play music every day for at least a handful of beautiful, shining, happy people... hangin' out in under a few palm trees between the pool and the Pacific Ocean - And then, one of the 7 nights I did a bigger gig for an entire Club Med Village.... PLUS, I got to host a very cool little "showcase" evening for some people who only get a chance to sing in front of an audience once or twice a year, if ever!

Very cool.

I'm gonna post some video - one very cool video that you're gonna wanna check out... probably tomorrow. It's of a very cool surprise guest I had jump up on stage with me one night down there.

(Damn! my life is sooooo fucking cool!)

Right now, I've just gotta start digging out of the hundreds of emails I'm suddenly under after only one week away!

BUT.... I'm also gonna hit the ground running this week to make the upcoming concert another one of those typically amazing nights when we all get to hang together and share a truckload of music and laughs.

all the guys are so up for it - George Wurzbach, Ryan Cavan, David Marcus, Chris Tedesco. And I'm thinkin' the lovely Janet Kirker is gonna join us on stage this time around! Gonna be very cool.

AND IF YOU'RE ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE I MET IN MEXICO.... I hope I see you guys there, too!!!! (Go ahead. Make it a night to show off your suntan!)

Only days until we all get together in Merkin Concert Hall on West 67th Street

Don't get sold out of this one! Call a few friends and grab tickets this week, okay?

Or call the box office directly. They'll be open all week.

And Hey!

You wanna be in a movie!? Seriously. If you come and hangout with me all next summer in Central Park, you're probably gonna be a part of a film that's being made this year about... um... about... uh...

me.

And, about what I've been doing with all of you at "The Hill" for the past 18 years. But the filmmaker, Dean Love, is gonna start by shooting the indoor things we do to break up the winter before we head back out to the park. So, call a few friends and make plans to join us.

I think in the next few days I'll be asking you guys to email me with song suggestions for this concert. Y'know, it's a nice problem to have.... having too many songs that people wanna hear in one night. So, hit the contact button and let me know your favorites, okay? (I'm not sure I know of another artist who's ever done that! Hmmmm. Kinda cool. Wouldn't it be great if you could email James Taylor or Bruce Springsteen and ask them to play certain songs!?)

Anyway... call those friends! Make it a field trip! GRAB THOSE SEATS!

Okay... outta here.

See you back here tomorrow.

Thanks for everything.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
- Dean
