C'mon! Help me retire a whole bunch of songs that I've written over the past 8 years of this nightmarish presidential administration... songs that I don't EVER wanna hafta sing again!!! I'm probably gonna share some stories behind the music and the lyrics... give you a little insight into how wacky the process has been inside my brain in response to the kind of insanity we've all witnessed during the Bush years! Besides, I just wanted to do something to celebrate this presidential new inauguration... AND have a reason to hang with all of you again in the middle of the winter.
We'll sing other stuff, too. It'll be a blast. But, I wanna get everybody who senses Hope and Possibility in a room so we can feel this release together!
AND, I THINK I'LL HAVE A LIMITED NUMBER OF SPECIAL EDITION CDs FOR ONLY $10 THAT YOU GUYS CAN BUY IF YOU WANT TO - COMMEMORATE THIS ONE TIME GIG!!!
It's general admission... first come first serve. The concert starts at 7:30 but the house will open at 7:00.
Cool?
Okay... I have something that is both fascinating and disturbing at the same time. My pal Dean Love, the filmmaker who is gonna shoot this new movie, was in D.C. to do some work for Hardball with Chris Matthews surrounding the Inauguration. While he was down there, a colleague and friend of his shout som video and turned it into a short piece that Dean sent to me yesterday.
BEFORE YOU WATCH IT.... click on this link to listen to a song from my most recent CD.
As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
