Hey welcome to the website.

Listen, I know the update is a little bit late today. It might also be a little bit shorter than most and maybe not quite as fun a most of the updates are around here. I've kinda got something on my mind today. It has to do with something that's happening in world news. Maybe I'll write about it tomorrow.

Send some good thoughts and whatever kinds of prayers you have in your bag to those civilian people of Palestine who are getting their heads handed to them today.

BUT!

If you've been comin' around here, you have an idea what I'm about anyway. And, if you've ever been out to "The Hill" in Central Park, you know what the music is all about.

Y'know what?

"The 8 Year Concert" is the next indoor gig comin' up. It's actually only about 2 and a half weeks away. I'll give you a chance to reserve some seats a little further down the page.

Gotta remind everybody, though. The concert we did in December was at Merkin Concert Hall. there are 450 seats in Merkin Hall.

This gig is gonna be at H.I. New York Performance Hall on Amsterdam Ave. It's a more intimate space... and seats 150. (So, you might wanna think about calling some friends and reserving seats soon.)

FIRST...

I wanna make these 2 songs available as FREE downloads for anybody who's new here.

.

Okay... at the concert on January 24th we're gonna have a blast. We'll probably laugh as much as we sing. It is definitely gonna be a feel-good night - 4 nights after a historic inauguration and... well, let's face it I love any excuse to hang with all of you Good people and share a night of music. This is just gonna give me a chance to let go of some of these songs that I hope I never have to sing again!!!

Remember this one from 2003!?

The first night I introduced the song and I knew it was gonna catch on because everybody at The Red Lion started singin' the hook. (In fact, I got emails the next day from people all over the city saying, "DAMMIT, David! I can't get that song out of my head!"

Pretty cool.

Here's the video from that night. CLICK ON THE PHOTO

Listen... "The 8-Year Concert"! It's gonna be fun. You can reserve your seats RIGHT NOW!

On Saturday night, January 24th, we'll all get together in H.I. New York Performance Hall and sing a bunch of those songs one last time and retire them forever! We'll sing other stuff, too. It'll be a blast. But, I wanna get everybody who senses Hope and Possibility in a room so we can feel this release together! (Then, of course, we have a LOT more work to do!)

It's general admission... first come first serve. The concert starts at 7:30 but the house will open at 7:00.

Cool?

Okay... have at it! Grab some seats! Here's the banner.

Click on this banner to put your name on the list at the door.

OR...

You can just show up that night with a $20 bill. I'll let you know if it's lookin' like a sell-out as it gets closer, okay?

Okay...

I'm outta here.

I'll be back tomorrow.

Again... send some good thoughts and whatever kinds of prayers you have in your bag to those civilian people of Palestine who are getting their heads handed to them today.

PEACE

Thanks for everything.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
