Hey guys!
Welcome to the website. Welcome to all of you New Yorkers, everyone across the country and people in different parts of the world.

Today is Inauguration Day here in The States.
For me, it's a particularly "feel-good" day. I'm gong to, very quietly, feel good all day today... really take it in.
This year it's a really GREAT day in America. (Not only because I think we elected a good man to occupy the Oval Office... but, because the most wholly unAmerican and criminal administration is leaving.)
All of this chanting "Obama! Obama!" is a little disturbing for me. We all oughta remember... it's not the man. It's what he represents. And my hope is found in his expressed willingness to allow the principles of self-governance work for this country, as well as his commitment to restoring and respecting our system of 3 equal yet separate branches of government.
WE are the government. WE are the People.
It's just us!
George W. Bush's term isn't over until 11:59:59 today.
Not soon enough.
Still, today is a day for every person of Reason to breathe a sigh of relief.
But, it's very much like a farmer coming up from a storm cellar after a tornado has ripped through the land. It's folly to think that it's enough to say, "Well, the wind stopped blowin'! Everything's okay now."
No.
It's time to look around, assess the destruction, and then begin to repair the damage one step at a time.
We get started... TOMORROW!
But for today, let's have fun!!!! In fact, I'm gonna celebrate all week... and wrapping up the week and a long 8 years with "The 8 Year Concert" !!!
We're gonna have a blast!
Hope you can be a part of it! Don't get sold outta this one!
This coming Saturday night, we're all gonna head to H.I. New York Performance Hall to help me retire a whole bunch of songs that I've written over the past 8 years... songs that I don't EVER wanna hafta sing again!!!
It's The 8 Year Concert
By the way... this gig is only $20 and H.I.N.Y is reeealllly easy to get to. It's on Amsterdam Ave at 103rd Street. The #1 train stops a half block away at 103 & Broadway. And both the B & C trains stop at 103rd and Central Park West.
We're gonna have a blast! I wanted to do something to celebrate this presidential inauguration tomorrow... AND have a reason to hang with all of you again in the middle of the winter. I also wanna retire a whole bunch of songs I've been inspired and compelled to write over the past 8 years.
So!
Next Saturday night, January 24th, we'll all get together and sing a bunch of those songs one last time and retire them forever! We'll sing other stuff, too. It'll be a blast. But, I wanna get everybody who senses Hope and Possibility in a room so we can feel this release together!
AND, I THINK I'LL HAVE A LIMITED NUMBER OF SPECIAL EDITION CDs FOR ONLY $10 THAT YOU GUYS CAN BUY IF YOU WANT TO - COMMEMORATE THIS ONE TIME GIG!!!
It's general admission... first come first serve. The concert starts at 7:30 but the house will open at 7:00.
Cool?
