Hey! Welcome to the website.

Who's the luckiest man alive!

Well, the weekend is finally here. And another holiday season is upon us. And, 2008 is nearly over. And...

It's "THE SOMETHING'TH ANNUAL YEAR END CONCERT"

Couple of things...

FIRST - y'know over the years I've been lucky enough to have some really cool people and dear friends introduce this event. We've kick off the night with Sid Bernstein, the man who brought The Beatles to America; Norman Siegel of the ACLU; Kenny Kramer (Yes! The real Kramer!); Susan Hannah, Robbie Pope, Lisa G of WOR Radio, Andy Kent, so many others... last year it was Pete Fornatale from WFUV (That was a trip!)

This year, a man who's become a friend and fellow songwriter, who's also an accomplished and fine actor... Bruce McCarty has agreed to introduce this year's traditional gig.

You might have seen Bruce on TV or in the movies. (Law & Order, Sex in the City, Judging Amy, Chicago Hope, Love Potion no. 9, One Life to Live, Ally McBeal and so many others...)

.

But, he's a fine songwriter who I'd like to feature in a future gig in 2009

Ha! Y'know? I wonder if I could ask the people at Merkin Concert Hall to go through their records and let us know exactly how many years we've been doing these gigs in that great concert venue. I know years ago, we use to do 2 or 3 gigs a year there. Maybe I've played Merkin Hall a dozen or 15 times. But, the traditional "Year End" show? I have NO idea how many we've done.

Hence the word.... "something'th"!

The only thing that really matters is that WE'RE GONNA FILL THAT ROOM AGAIN TOMORROW NIGHT with wonderful people... New Yorkers and people from different parts of the country and different parts of the world... and kick 2008 in the ass as it heads out the door!

Are you gonna be there? Did you get your tickets yet, or are you just gonna show up tomorrow? Either way is cool right now. I'm pretty sure there will be tickets left before showtime tomorrow.

But, if you wanna be sure and grab your tickets in advance, you can call the box office today after 12 noon.

(212) 501-3330

OR... order them online right now.

AND...

Did you finish your Christmas and Chanukkah and Kwanza shopping? (I didn't think so.)

If you're coming to the concert this Saturday night, get there a little early or plan to stay a few minutes after the show! There's a song that EVERYBODY has been asking me for. It's a song that I'm gonna be doing in the concert called "This Moment". (It's not on any of my CDs yet.) SO! I made a special edition CD just for the concert.... with "This Moment" and a bunch of other songs. There are even a few songs from the now out-of-print Christmas album. ("Just a Thought for Christmas")

So, bring some extra cash. If you buy any of the other CDs for gifts or for yourself, you can take that special CD for FREE! Or, you can buy that CD for only $10 on it's own.

Cool? (And... ha! The thing about giving CDs is that they're so damned easy to gift wrap!)

Okay! I'm outta here!

SEE YOU TOMORROW NIGHT!

Thanks for everything.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
