Well, 3 things today.

First... welcome to the website. Welcome to all of you who might be new around here, after that little thing that showed up in The New York Times yesterday. (I'll probably post yesterday's update again tomorrow, on Christmas Day.)

Y'know, I'm planning to head back out to Central Park when the weather gets warm again in 2009. I hope if you live in New York City, or if you're reading this in a different part of the country or a different part of the world... I hope you plan on makin' your way out to "The Hill" and hangin' out with me and the "People on the Hill" at least once.

AND SECOND!

You guys...

Have a really Merry Christmas!

AND THIRD...

The first concert is already planned for '09. And, it's gonna be fun! It's all about keeping hope alive!

Y'know, in the last 8 years and the worst presidential administration in the history of the country, I've written a lot of songs with a purpose... some funny, some with a message. But all of them with the same purpose.

"To comfort the disturbed.... and disturb the comfortable."

Or maybe we'll call this gig... "Calling a Do-over on the Twenty-first Century".

Or, "A Chance to Retire Those Songs!"

So at this concert on January 24th, I'm going to RETIRE a whole bunch of songs I've written over the past 8 years!!! Sing them, have fun with them, get them out into the Universe one last time and then hopefully.... never sing them again!

Songs like...

TIRED OF BEING LIED TO

And...

Watch video

OF COURSE...

Of course, I'll keep writing songs that speak to what's going on in this country and on this world because it is part of my job description.

I mean... people like this ass will still be around.

But, it'll be nice to retire a while bunch of songs!

SO, WE'RE GONNA DO IT! AND WE'RE GONNA HAVE A BLAST! AND WE'RE GONNA CALL IT...

It's gonna be at H.I. New York Performance Hall. I will let you know as soon as the tickets are ready to go on sale... probably before the end of the year.

Okay... I'm outta here. Check back tomorrow for another pretty cool update.

If you're new around here... I've had a lot of fun with Photoshop during the past election year. Here's an update that contained a SUPER BIG PHOTOSHOP GALLERY!

AND, I very often like to make a few songs available as FREE downloads. Here are a few more...

CRAZY ON THE SAME DAY
WHERE'S THE VOICE
TOM CRUISE SCARES ME
THE RELIGION SONG
THROUGH MY NOSE

See you guys tomorrow.

Hey, if you're reading this and it's late at night...

GET TO SLEEP OR SANTA CLAUS WON'T COME!

Thanks for everything.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
