SO! What's goin' on today?

Well - the governor of Illinois, Rod Blag... blagoy... blagoj... um... "Rod" - - not only appears to be a sociopath, nutjob and a criminal...

...but he's also completely tainted all the wonderful memories I had of him, hangin' out with Richie and The Fonz.

.

Also, I have 3 pieces of good news today... and some bad news.

The first piece of good news is that there are still 160 seats left at Merkin Concert Hall for the event this Saturday night.

But the kids in the box office say it might be a sell-out. (I'm not so sure. But, hey!) So listen... if you call the box office in the next few days and they tell you that there are no more tickets left, hit the "contact" button over there and I'll try to work something out. (We've had this situation a few times before.)

Another piece of good news is that... you can still get tickets today! (Further down this page.)

And for me personally, the final piece of good news is that the government finally came through on a request I made last week.

Y'know, I'm watching the news and I saw them give 700 BILLION dollars to the financial industry... and then I saw them give 34 BILLION dollars to the auto industry. There's a Democrat governor in Illinois who tried to sell Obama's vacant senate seat for a job that pays a quarter of a million dollars. On and on...

So I wrote a letter to Congress and asked them for a measly one million dollars to help me pay the rent and buy guitar strings.

The GOOD news is that I received it in the mail this morning.

The BAD news is... I can't get any newsstands or cab drivers to make change for it.

(sigh)

Oh well. I guess I'll just hafta keep on writing songs and singin' 'em for people to make a living.

Wait a minute!

I write songs and I sing them for people to make a living!!!!!!!! I'm the luckiest son-of-a-bitch alive! (Okay, I'm broke most of the time. But, I wouldn't trade places with another human being on earth.)

Oh listen... yesterday and the day before I said I was gonna write a kind of an editorial piece about some of the silly people who feel the need to send me negative emails about... what amounts to ill-informed nonsense.

But, I'm feelin' too good about the concert coming up this weekend. So, I'm gonna let it go for now!

Are you gonna be joining me at Merkin Concert Hall this coming weekend?

I know there are a lot of you reading this in different cities and in different parts of the world. But, if you're gonna be here in town this Saturday night, I hope you wanna be a part of "The Something'th Annual Year End Concert".

Okay, let me give you a couple of ways to get your tickets right now. AND...

If this helps at all, here's a seating chart for Merkin Hall. (The stage is actually designed for orchestral stuff. So, it's very wide. That just means the entire house is really very near the stage... very intimate. And the place sounds great! Not a bad seat anywhere in that room.)

Click for a larger image.

BTW - pay attention to that dotted line. See? The balcony is like right near the stage!

Here are 2 ways to grab some seats right now.

Here's the number for the box office! They're open today after 12 noon.

Yeah. Yeah, money is tight. For guys like me... Ha! Money is always tight. So, maybe I'm just used to it and that's why I'm never worried! Still, gimme a break. Do something good for yourself. Call a few friends and make December 13th a night out. Make it a "thing" to close out 2008. Like I always say, these year-end concerts are a great way to "kick the year in the ass as it heads out the door".

Y'know, you might even wanna consider just coming by yourself. The vibe is pretty much the same as it is at "The Hill" in Central Park. So you know it's cool to come to something like this by yourself and be surrounded by the same cool people that you hang with all summer. Probably even look around and see a lot of the same faces.

Y'know?

If you're new around here... I've had a lot of fun with Photoshop during the past election year. Here's an update that contained a SUPER BIG PHOTOSHOP GALLERY!

AND, I very often like to make a few songs available as FREE downloads. Here are a few more...

CRAZY ON THE SAME DAY
WHERE'S THE VOICE
TOM CRUISE SCARES ME
THE RELIGION SONG
THROUGH MY NOSE

Oh, one more...

BILL O'REILLY: THE LEGEND OF THE BIG GIANT HEAD

Okay, I'm outta here.

Hope I see YOU on December 13th!

Thanks for everything.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
