If you've been coming around here, you basically know how I feel about things that are going on in this country and in the world.
But, once again I'd like to change things up a little bit.... change my mind... basically say...
DON'T VOTE!!!!!

Okay!!!!
Gotta start right off by asking the same question I ask often on a beautiful Sunday morning here in New York City...
Were you out there in Central Park with me yesterday?
If you were...
Thank you!
Man! What a day!
If you ever wonder why I'm always saying I feel like the luckiest man alive, all you had to do was hang out with all of us in Central Park yesterday and you'd know what I mean. I got to roll out a couple of newer songs and share a couple of old song I haven't played in a long, long time.
Started out cold and rainy.
Then the Sun peaked through. But more than that... the warmth of the people who gathered later in the afternoon was magic. I mean, really. I'm not exaggerating and I'm not being poetic. It turned into a beautiful, beautiful afternoon and I was grateful to even be a part of it. It was the people. If you were there... it was because of you.
The girls singing from the rowboats!
And what a good time I had, losing my mind a little bit, going wherever the flow was taking me, telling stories about... Connecticut Warblers... taking a run at songs I barely knew.
Ordinary people spontaneously slow dancing on the path in the autumn air.
.
And if you put your email address in the book, I promise that I will add your names to the list and keep you in the loop about things that are happening here at the site, as well as the plans for the "Something-th Annual Year End Concert" in December.
Y'know? Damn! What a day! That guy, Cullen, with the birthday-dog Oliver, jumping in on "Next time Around". And, those two wonderful and brave young people, Cara and Ben jumping up to help me out with the new Sarah Palin Parody.

Speaking of which... a lot of these things are popping up on YouTube. A lot of people are posting video from our afternoons in Central Park. Some of them are pretty cool.
Here's the original video!
"Don't Know Palin"

If you've been coming around here lately, you know we've been having a lot of fun around the choice of Sarah Palin to be John McCain's vice presidential running mate. (You can download the new song a little further down the page, and then pass it all around the internet.)
Like I said in the park yesterday... I'm a registered Independent and I'm not at all enamored with this Democratic bunch in Washington. (Bunch of Casper Milquetoasts!) But, if you're a Republican and you're not just fucking embarrassed at this point, then... Ha! I really don't even know what to say!
I rrreeeeeaaallllly want you guys to download this for yourselves, but then pass it on to several friends around the country, especially in those "swing states". (C'mon... this is New York. I know at least half of you have relatives in Florida!)
' Cause... after the last 8 years, if you're a Republican, or if you voted for George W. Bush, and you're not both embarrassed and ashamed.... then I reeeealllly have nothing to say!
Between now and November, try to get as may friends as you can to at least check out this site.... and even tell them to browse the "Archives"
And keep passing this FREE stuff all around the internet.
Okay...
Keep checkin' in here okay?
I'll be back all week with lots fun stuff.
Thanks for everything.
All outdoor events are weather permitting! Stop by the website before you go if it is questionable.

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
