EVERYBODY'S TALKIN' ABOUT WALL STREET AND MAIN STREET!!!!
All the politicians are so concerned with the welfare of all you people who live on "Main Street". I guess you hafta be one lucky son-of-a-bitch to be living on "Main Street" these days. Because everywhere else, the middle class, the poor and every artist I know... we've been talkin' it in the neck since George W. Bush has been in the White House! Hell...
We don't even HAVE a "Main Street" in New York City!
(sigh)
But, we've got Broadway and I wouldn't trade it!
(Okay. Before you start emailing me... I know they're not actually talking about a street called Main Street. I'm just gettin' sick of hearing Democrats and Republicans, the whole damned lot of 'em, talkin' about it!)
Good to see so many people from across the country and different parts of the world showing up here.
For those of you who are in New York City or will be this coming Saturday...
I think we're gonna have perfect weather for another typically great day in Central Park.
AND... if you were lucky enough to be down at The Red Lion this past Monday night for the SGA Songwriter's Circle, you got a one of those unexpected NYC treats.
We were goin' around and around the circle, sharing songs and laughs. Then about halfway through, Keyboard player, Skip Brevis, announces that Miss Phoebe Snow was in the audience. She jumped up on stage and let it rip. It was a very cool moment.
Phoebe Snow . Thanks, Elodie Pauwels: photo
Okay, now yesterday I promised I was gonna have a few free downloads, a link to the new Sarah Palin video and other things. They're here today, just a little further down this page.
In fact, if your in the mood for fun and a whole lotta goofy shit right now you can hit the Archives and browse around.
But, before any of that, one more time... I have one serious thing to say today.
As serious as a heart attack.
Especially to ANY of you who voted for George W. Bush, or supported this unAmerican, illegal, historically ignorant, colossally stupid, tactically-clueless invasion of Iraq. It's connected to this EESA. (The bailout bill that Congress is till trying to pass today.) It's about the 2.5 billion dollars a week we're spending in Iraq. It's about the countless lives lost, both American and Iraqi.
Click on this photo to read it and then send me an email and comment on it if you like.

Feel free... NO. Feel a sense of obligation to send the link to this page to as many people as you can today. As Thomas Jefferson said, "A little rebellion every now and then is a good thing."
Okay, some fun stuff. HERE IT IS! The new Sarah Palin parody, "Don't Know Palin"
If you've been coming around here lately, you know we've been having a lot of fun around the choice of Sarah Palin to be John McCain's vice presidential running mate. (You can download the new song a little further down the page, and then pass it all around the internet.)
Click on the image to download the song.
This is not the radio-friendly FCC-pleasing version. This is the version for the rest of us and for podcasters and bloggers who aren't encumbered by censorship.
I rrreeeeeaaallllly want you guys to download this for yourselves, but then pass it on to several friends around the country, especially in those "swing states". (C'mon... this is New York. I know at least half of you have relatives in Florida!)
By the way... if you're new around here and you'd like to check out a more extensive picture gallery, just click on this link.
And, you might wanna go ahead and download a few more free songs.
As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
