Hey New York!!!

Look at the weather!!! Might get a sprinkle in the morning. But, the afternoon is gonna be beautiful!

How many more days like this are we gonna get this year!?

Head on out to Central Park, okay?

I'll see you there!

If you're new and you've never hung out with me before, just go to the entrance of the park at West 77th Street and Central Park West. Follow that road straight down to The Lake and look for about 300 smiling, singing people. You should run right into them.

I'll be the guy with the guitar. (And, about 400 friends.)

You people send in the best photos.

The rest of you guys across the country and in different parts of the world, there's a whole bunch of stuff here at the website to check out. there are FREE song downloads scattered throughout all the updates.

The webmaster of this site, evil-genius James Marino, has built this website so that you can all go back and browse updates that go alllll the way back. I mean, photoshop galleries, video, free songs... there's an awful lotta stuff here. Have fun.

Y'know... one of these days I'm gonna spend a few hours going back through some updates and reminiscing. Never rally thought of it this way before, but there's a actually a kind of a recent American historical record back there in all those pages.

If you've been coming around here, you basically know how I feel about things that are going on in this country and in the world.

But, I'd like to change things up a little bit.... change my mind... basically say...

DON'T VOTE!!!!!

If you were out in Central Park a few weeks ago...

...you caught one of the sweetest moments I've experienced since I've been "That Guitar Man from Central Park"

The man who brought The Beatles to America and changed music history forever has become a good friend and hangs with all of us nearly every Saturday afternoon. He happens to absolutely love a song from my latest CD... "Next Time Around". He says it's his now favorite song in the world. Well, this is a guy who's produced The Beatles, did the first concert at Shea Stadium, put The Rolling Stones in Carnegie Hall, discovered and managed The Rascals, put James Brown in Madison Square Garden as the first musical act ever, and so much more.... but, he's never played or sang a note. (Not publicly, anyway!)

That's Ladybird Lodi Carr helpin' him out.

Cool, hah?

I mean, the crowd was small because the weather was threatening. But, the people who were there came away with a great New York memory!

Okay, now! In case you missed it, or you're showing up here for the first time, or you've got a little catching up to do...

HERE IT IS! The new Sarah Palin parody, "Don't Know Palin"

If you've been coming around here lately, you know we've been having a lot of fun around the choice of Sarah Palin to be John McCain's vice presidential running mate. (You can download the new song a little further down the page, and then pass it all around the internet.)

Y'know when I was down at Chris Lavin's apartment laying down the voice over parts, she suggested that a whole bunch of people might wanna start playing this on the radio... college radio stations, Air America and the like. (Air America has aired my tune "JesusLand" several times so I'm thinking she had a good point.) So, here's an FCC-friendly version for public airplay. I bleeped out one word - - (gasp!!!)

Whew!

Okay, here's the version for the rest of us.

And for you podcasters and bloggers who aren't encumbered by censorship.

I rrreeeeeaaallllly want you guys to download this for yourselves, but then pass it on to several friends around the country, especially in those "swing states". (C'mon... this is New York. I know at least half of you have relatives in Florida!)

Between now and November, try to get as may friends as you can to at least check out this site.... and even tell them to browse the "Archives"

And keep passing this FREE stuff all around the internet.

Okay...

Gotta get out to Central Park. If you're in New York, I hope I'll see you there.

the rest of you.... keep checkin' in here okay?

Thanks for everything.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
