Well guys...

Paul Newman has left the building. (Click here for a little tribute and a few thoughts about one of my favorite actors of all time.)

THEN... let's start today with a little laugh. Sent in by a friend who hangs out here at the website.

Click here and listen to a 911 emergency call

I'd like to welcome everyone in different parts of the country and around the world. But here in New York City...

Look out the window.

It' ain't lookin' good for singin' in the park today.

Man! We've had a rough season weather-wise on Saturday's this year. It's not like the old days when I used to be able to head out there on a Sunday if we got rained out. So, I guess we'll hafta look forward to next weekend.

Um... wait! That's not completely true.

Even though we got rained out today... we can still hang out on Monday night!

MONDAY NIGHT... it's the SGA Songwriter's Circle on Bleecker Street in The Village. And, that gig is FREE as well. I get to share the stage wiht some of the finest songwriters in this town and some weeks we laugh as much as we sing. If you've ever been to one, you know what a cool hang it is. (I think I'm gonna run a brand new song past you guys with a fiddle player I just hooked up with... Chris Tedesco.) It's at The Red Lion and it's free... cranks up at 7:00

.

It's easy to get to. Just take the A, B, C, D, E or F Train to the West 4th Street Station. The Red Lion is on the corner of Bleecker & Thompson... right near there.

Hey listen.

I'm gonna spend this rainy day workin' on a new song today. If you're new around here, take a little time and have some fun browsing the "Archives" Between now and November, try to get as may friends as you can to at least check out this site. We'll have some fun saving the country!

And, maybe I'll be back a little later this afternoon with another update here at the site.

But, I've just gotta repeat something from yesterday.

Thursday night, I had the greatest time singing over at H.I. New York. Since I've become a kind of a "New York thang", once a week they ask me to come over there and play for the travelers in that hostel. These days, every night I get to strap a guitar on my shoulder and share music with people become typically amazing... y'know, a chain of songs and smiles and laughs and beautiful moments. But some nights are even more magic, in that a packed room filled with wonderful people from all around the world connect on a different level.

Thursday was one of those nights.

I was supposed to play from 7:30 until 9:00 I don't think I got outta stopped singing until somewhere around 11:00. I just didn't wanna stop. What a great night. If you're reading this and you were there...

Thank You.

I promised some people a few FREE downloads, so here they are.

Lost on Bleecker Street

Crazy on the Same Day

Damn! I love doing what I do!

Okay... one mo' time!

HERE IT IS! The new Sarah Palin parody, "Don't Know Palin"

.

.

Hope I see you in the park next weekend or at The Lion on Monday night. And if you're in a different part of the country or a different part of the world, I'll see you back here at the website... maybe even a little later today

Thanks for everything.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
