Welcome to the website today. (Especially to all of you reading this in different parts of the country and different parts of the world.)

Here in New York City... MAN! We've been in a really rotten streak of weather-luck as far as playing in the park. Seems that every front of bad weather plows through this town on Saturday and we're just not able to get out to Central Park to do what we do.

Might happen again this weekend.

BUT... I'm already making plans for this year's "Something-th Annual Year-End Concert". Yeah, yeah it's a couple of months away, but I'll fill you in as soon as I know more. We couldn't get the 500-seat Merkin Concert Hall this year. So, we might split the gig into two or three nights at the more intimate H.I. New York Performance Hall. (Or as we like to call it... HINY) We'll see.

Today I'm scrambling to find a female voice to sing on a brand new parody I recorded yesterday. We live in such a pinball machine that I really wanna try to get this song here on this site as a FREE download and available for all of you to pass around the internet sometime tonight or tomorrow. Gonna be tough.

Y'know?

When I'm in a really good place and I'm doing what I'm supposed to be doing, I don't write the next song I wanna write.... I write the next song that wants to be written. Very often, I feel lucky to be in the same room. Whether it's a Love song, or a track about a funny thought, or a song that let's one other person know they're not alone, it's important for me to get out of the way and let the song say what it wants to say.

AND... I guess between now and the first week of November, I'll be writing a whole bunch of stuff around this election.

I've said this a million times, I'VE BEEN A REGISTERED INDEPENDENT MY ENTIRE VOTING LIFE! But, I feel very strongly about Truth and Reason... and having a really good time doing the right thing! So, we'll have some fun around here. Check back every day.

FUN WITH PERSPECTIVE!!!

Sarah Palin's from a a town called Wasilla. She was in the PTA and then for seven years she served as Mayor of Wasilla, Alaska - - population estimated generously at around 9,000

Now, picture that last time you were in Madison Square Garden for a concert. You could fit the entire town of Wasilla, every man woman and child inside Madison Square Garden for a concert... and then invite another town of exactly the same population... and still have between 500 and 600 seats left for your closest friends.

She then became the governor of the state of Alaska. (She has now held that job for about 21 months.)

Alaska: population 670,053

There are more than 3 TIMES as many people living... in Brooklyn!

And yes, I'm pretty sure I've sung "People on the Hill" for more people this summer than live in the entire town and surrounding areas of Wasilla.

The island of Manhattan has an area of 22.7 square miles.

Wasilla... 11.7 square miles. About 4 or 5 times the size of... Central Park. (Hell! I could practically be the Mayor of Wasilla.)

Uy!

But y'know what? Approximately 1/3 of this country would vote Republican even if the world was on fire and the country was in the shit hole. Which they are. And if you're in that one third... for this state of affairs as well as the 50% of the people in this country who don't pay attention or who don't vote.... I've got some more songs to write about and for you guys!

But, I just wanted to have fun with these numbers. They don't mean a whole lot in many regards... but, it's amazing isn't it!?

So we're gonna have some fun with... Right-wing Conservative, anti-choice, abstinence-only sex education, anti-birth control funding, gun-owning, hunter, moose-burger-eatin', pro-oil-drilling, ex-pageant contestant, nearly-2-year governor of Alaska... Sarah Palin.
