Okay... welcome to everyone who's showing up here for the first time. Welcome to everyone reading this in different parts of the country and different parts of the world.

And especially - welcome to all of you here in New York City who show up every weekend to hang with me in Central Park. Damn! I'm a very lucky man.

Got that new parody here for you today. The one I was tellin' you about!

Here's the thing...

I rrreeeeeaaallllly want you guys to download this for yourselves, but then pass it on to several friends around the country, especially in those "swing states". (C'mon... this is New York. I know at least half of you have relatives in Florida!)

No kidding. If you don't know how to send a song over the internet, then send them the link to this site. And, if you don't know how to do that... call them on the phone and TELL them to visit this site and listen to the song.

Cool?

Okay! Here it is.

"DON'T KNOW PALIN"

Music: Barry Mann, Cynthia Weil, Tom Snow
New Lyrics: David Ippolito, Lisa Regal

Performed by David Ippolito and Angie McKnight (With a special appearance by Miss Christine Lavin)

Click on the image to download the song.

Y'know when I was down at Chris Lavin's apartment laying down the voice over parts, she suggested that a whole bunch of people might wanna start playing this on the radio... college radio stations, Air America and the like. (Air America has aired my tune "JesusLand" several times so I'm thinking she had a good point.) So, here's an FCC-friendly version for public airplay. I bleeped out one word - - (gasp!!!)

Whew!

Okay, here's the version for the rest of us.

And for you podcasters and bloggers who aren't encumbered by censorship.

Okay... whew!

Hadda get this one done and in the can fast. We live in such a pinball machine.Yeah, yeah, I know. Somebody'll probably say I'm picking on Palin... just because she doesn't wanna explain herself to the press, says that the war in Iraq is a "...task from God", and wants to take the right of choice that her daughter just made away from all other women in this country.

But, I actually care enough to research her deeply and find out as much as I can about her life and decisions. For example... most people forget "DOC"

For the record, the names are Track, Bristol, Willow, Piper, Trig, Sleepy and Doc.

Hey listen, if you're new around here you might wanna check out the "Gallery" that I posted here the other day. And, you might wanna go ahead and download a few more free songs.

CRAZY ON THE SAME DAY
WHERE'S THE VOICE
THE RELIGION SONG
TOM CRUISE SCARES ME

Also, take some time to hit the Archives and browse around... y'know, when the boss isn't looking.

Here' a link to MY INITIAL COMMENTARY ABOUT THE CHOICE OF SARAH PALIN AS A VICE PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE.

And... here are SOME OF YOUR RESPONSES!

Okay I'm outta here. I'll be back tomorrow.

Here in NYC, keep your fingers crossed for good weather this coming Saturday so we can get back out to the park to hang together.

PEACE

And, thank for everything.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
