What're you thinkin'?
I'm thinkin' I'm gonna head out to Central Park and hang with you guys today. I have a feeling the rain is gonna hold off until late, late afternoon or tonight. So, let's get out there.

Might not be a perfect day, weather-wise. But, I'll take what we can get! It'll be a nice relaxing day. Just kick back. No expectations. Maybe I'll even get to sing the brand new parody "Don't Know Palin". (If you haven't been checkin' in around here and you haven't download your free version of this song, you can do it further down the page.)
For the most part, I'm really enjoying all the email feedback that's been coming in through this website over the past week. When I released the new song, traffic on this website tripled!
If you're new here, take a few minutes to browse the the "Archives" and have some fun.
If you're in NYC, I hope I'll see you in the park. For everyone else reading this across the country and in different parts of the world, I promised a little follow-up commentary commentary on Governor Palin. So, here we go. Feel free to hit the "Contact" button over there and chime in.
Today's... um... COMMENT
Please send John McCain and Sarah Palin all your good thoughts. Give them all your Good energy and hope that they grow and move closer to Truth one day. Wish them no harm.
Give them all your Good energy... but please, do NOT give them your vote, okay?
I don't care if you're a Republican... or a Democrat... or a Green or Blue or anything else. All of us, as Americans (If you have even an inkling of the principles upon which this nation was founded.) ...and as thinking, sentient human beings should be really, really concerned about a person who can talk about this nightmarish war in Iraq and actually state in front of a crowd and on the record:
"Pray for our military men and women who are striving to do what is right. Also, for this country, that our leaders, our national leaders, are sending [U.S. soldiers] out on a task that is from God."
...our leaders, our national leaders, are sending them out on a task that is from God!!!
Cue: The Religion Song

Sarah Lincoln
Now later, to explain her religiously zealous statement, Palin said she was referencing Abraham Lincoln, who said...
"Sir my concern is not whether God is on our side. My great concern is to be on God's side."
My feeling? Her explanation is just a little bit twisted. This is how Palin attempted to explain.
"...the reference there is a repeat of Abraham Lincoln's words when he said -- first, he suggested never presume to know what God's will is, and I would never presume to know God's will or to speak God's words."
Okay. Come up with some convoluted way that she could have been referencing Abraham Lincoln if you like. It can be done. It takes a lot of effort.
But in my White House, in your White House, in OUR White House - - concerning matters of war, matters of state, concerning all matters of the national interest... religion and god have NO place in this discussion.
Period.
Cue: Get Out Our House
Chime in. I'll be posting some more of your thoughts and feeling here on this site like I did last week.
Okay... FREE download time!!! In case you missed your chance to download this song for FREE and endit around to as many people as you can...
I'm already workin' on a NEW song! It's based on some email exchanges I've had with several people over the past few days... and generated by this song!
"DON'T KNOW PALIN"
Music: Barry Mann, Cynthia Weil, Tom Snow
New Lyrics: David Ippolito, Lisa Regal
Performed by David Ippolito and Angie McKnight (With a special appearance by Miss Christine Lavin)

Y'know when I was down at Chris Lavin's apartment laying down the voice over parts, she suggested that a whole bunch of people might wanna start playing this on the radio... college radio stations, Air America and the like. (Air America has aired my tune "JesusLand" several times so I'm thinking she had a good point.) So, here's an FCC-friendly version for public airplay. I bleeped out one word - - (gasp!!!)

Whew!
Okay, here's the version for the rest of us.
And for you podcasters and bloggers who aren't encumbered by censorship.

I rrreeeeeaaallllly want you guys to download this for yourselves, but then pass it on to several friends around the country, especially in those "swing states". (C'mon... this is New York. I know at least half of you have relatives in Florida!)
Okay...
I'm heading out to the park.
See you out there!
Thanks for everything.
