Another week. Here we go again!

Welcome to everyone who's reading this in a different part of the country and a different part of the world.

I'm getting lots of emails these days from all over about the stuff that's going on here at the website and stuff that's going on here in The States... even from people who've never shared a weekend with us out at "The Hill" in Central Park.

Very cool.

So sorry about the rotten weather this weekend. Let's keep our fingers crossed for a great afternoon next weekend. My feeling is.... it's gonna be sunny and beautiful. We've got a ways to go before we reach the dreaded "Cut-off point" of 59 degrees. If you feel like sharing some music with me tonight, it's the last Monday of the month and time for the SGA Songwriter's Circle. (Scroll down for more about that!)

THE NEW PARODY "DON'T KNOW PALIN" (The Sarah Palin Song) is up and running and havin' fun on Youtube. Go check it out!

Hey! Before anybody else, I wanna say this to every single person in the United States... (especially all of you who, like me, are official counted as the poor.)

WOW!!!

Strap yourself in.... we nearly bought 700 billion dollars worth of shaky mortgages and CEO salaries & bonuses!!! (whew!) I was feelin' kinda jazzed!!! Before this, my most recent BIG purchase was a case of guitar strings!

Cue song: WHERE'DAT MONEY GO - '08

But, noooooooooo! The bill failed. Now.... take a deep breath.

I have one serious thing to say today.

As serious as a heart attack.

It's about this EESA. (The bailout bill that Congress was trying to pass today.)

Click on this photo to read it and then send me an email and comment on it if you like.

We're still gonna have some fun around here this week. We've got the big "Vice Presidential Debate" comin' up on Thursday night. Believe it or not, I'm lookin' forward to this one as much as I used to look forward to Yankees playoff games. (Ah memories.)

I thought the first event between Obama and McCain was more like a tandem press conference to spout talking points than anything else. But, that's was what passes for debate these days.

Click on this photo for a debate highlight from billionaire maverick, man-o-the-people John McCain.

By the way... if you're new around here and you'd like to check out a more extensive picture gallery, just click on this link.

And, you might wanna go ahead and download a few more free songs.

Also, take some time to hit the Archives and browse around... y'know, when the boss isn't looking.

Okay, if you're really jonesin' to hang out and share some music and laughs, I should let you know that I was invited again to sit in at the SGA Songwriters Circle down in the Village tonight.

TONIGHT! It's the SGA Songwriter's Circle on Bleecker Street in The Village. And, that gig is FREE as well. I get to share the stage with some of the finest songwriters in this town and some weeks we laugh as much as we sing. If you've ever been to one, you know what a cool hang it is. (I think I'm gonna run a brand new song past you guys with a fiddle player I just hooked up with... Chris Tedesco.) It's at The Red Lion and it's free... cranks up at 7:00

.

It's easy to get to. Just take the A, B, C, D, E or F Train to the West 4th Street Station. The Red Lion is on the corner of Bleecker & Thompson... right near there.

And like I said - it's FREE.

Alright, I'll be back here at the website tomorrow. Maybe I'll see you at the Lion tonight. And, I hope I'll get to see you in Central Park on Saturday.

Thanks for everything.

All outdoor events are weather permitting! Stop by the website before you go if it is questionable.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
