Oh man!

We've been so lucky with the weather here in New York City regarding the "Sunset on the Hudson" concert series all summer. But tonight?

.

Nope.

The gig was called on account of rain and... um... uh... a tornado warning!

I was laughing. Y'know? I thought when you get out of high school that high school-ish behavior generally stops. But, I just watched two ridiculous, full-grown men (Tom Foreman & Chad Myers) spend 45 minutes of airtime on CNN talking about a tornado that was NOT happening, as if it was the coolest and most exciting thing that ever happened in their lifetimes. What a joke. Just silly. (And, probably scaring some fragile people who don't know any better.)

Jerks.

Just silly.

But, I reeeeaaalllllyyy think this unsettled weather will it's way outta here by tomorrow. I think we'll have beautiful day out there. I'm just jonesin' to get out to Central Park with all of you.

Hope we can get out there tomorrow. 'Cause I also think we'll kinda celebrate Sid's birthday in the park this weekend. Y'think? Maybe a cake, some music and a few laughs. (A little bit more about Sid Bernstein in yesterday's update. And, I also came up with a way for YOU to wish him a Happy Birthday too, no matter where in the world you are!)

Listen... welcome to the website. Welcome to all of you in different parts of the country and different parts of the world. So, glad you either made it to New York City, to "The Hill" or that you just found this site... however... and that you're keeping in touch through this thing.Yesterday I decided I've GOTTA write a new song about that silly, cartoon-ishly hypocritical, shallow-minded... no, I guess "silly" is the best word to describe this blowhard... Sean Hannity.

I mean... Ha! I took the time to write a song about Bill O'Reilly! I can't let this silly little man, Hannity, off the hook.

I'll explain why here at the website very soon.

OH! But that's NOT the idea I was talkin' about here a couple of days ago. Check back for that, too. It's gonna be fun. I'm talkin' to my friend and colleague Christine Lavin about it today!

Oh! Oh listen... for all of you guys waaaaayyy out east on Long Island, I'm gonna be roadtrippin' this Monday night to play a gig out at The Stephen Talkhouse. (I've never played that venue before. But, it's a great music hall.)

Hey, y'know...

This is an election year and my good friend and webmaster, James Marino, suggested I update a track from my Common Ground album. So, here it is as a FREE download for you guys. (Pass it around to your friends for free. I don't care. It's yours. Have fun.)

"Where'dat Money Go?"

In fact... here are a few more.

CRAZY ON THE SAME DAY
WHERE'S THE VOICE
TOM CRUISE SCARES ME
JESUSLAND

Have fun.

Okay, I'm outta here for now.

But if you're here in NYC, especially the below-14th-Street crowd... sorry about the rainout! Maybe you can make it to Central Park tomorrow.

Thanks for everything.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
