Central Park...

Yeah, I think I'm gonna be able to finally get out to "The Hill" today. Finally got some beautiful weather for hangin' out and sharing some music and laughs.

What a day!!!!

Okay, let me start off by giving something away right now! Here's a FREE download for anybody who's new around here.

CRAZY ON THE SAME DAY

Very cool.

Got rained out on Pier 45 last night, so they had to cancel the "Sunset on the Hudson" concert. But, I'm thinkin' the unsettled weather has, for the most part, moved off shore and we're gonna have a great day in Central Park today. If you're in town and you're not doin' anything else, head on out there and hang out with me.

I also think we'll kinda celebrate Sid's birthday in the park today. Y'think? Maybe a cake? Something. I'm safe writing this here becau8se Sid is never on the internet. (A little bit more about Sid Bernstein in this update from a few days ago. I tink we'll also come up with a way for you to personally wish him a happy birthday or thank him for all the music.)

Listen... welcome to the website. Welcome to all of you in different parts of the country and different parts of the world. So, glad you either made it to New York City, to "The Hill" or that you just found this site... however... and that you're keeping in touch through this thing.

Oh! Oh listen... for all of you guys waaaaayyy out east on Long Island, I'm gonna be roadtrippin' this Monday night to play a gig out at The Stephen Talkhouse. (I've never played that venue before. But, it's a great music hall.)

I'm not sure yet what I'm gonna do out there, music-wise. But, it'll be a good time. Maybe I'll run a couple of brand new songs.

Y'know, a few days ago I decided I've GOTTA write a new song about that silly, cartoon-ishly hypocritical, shallow-minded... no, I guess "silly" is the best word to describe this blowhard... Sean Hannity.

I mean... Ha! I took the time to write a satirical song about Bill O'Reilly! So, I can't let this silly little man, Hannity, off the hook.

I'll explain why here at the website very soon.

OH! But that's NOT the idea I was talkin' about here a couple of days ago. Check back for that, too. It's gonna be fun. I'm talkin' to my friend and colleague Christine Lavin about it today!

Hey, y'know...

This is an election year and my good friend and webmaster, James Marino, suggested I update a track from my Common Ground album. So, here it is as a FREE download for you guys. (Pass it around to your friends for free. I don't care. It's yours. Have fun.)

"Where'dat Money Go?"

In fact... here are a few more.

WHERE'S THE VOICE
TOM CRUISE SCARES ME
JESUSLAND

Have fun.

Okay, I'm heading to Central Park. Keep your fingers crossed that the rain stays away.

Thanks for everything.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
