Yeah. As I received in several emails last night, the operative word was... "bummer".

So sorry about yesterday. I was sure it was a total washout... and then I wound up doing something else and was not able to pull the trigger to head to the park around 3 in the afternoon. (Maybe I should have.) We probably coulda gotten in a few hours during that beautiful afternoon that snuck in.

Damn!

And, then next weekend the Permit Office is NOT issuing the permit I applied for.

So, unless you guys head out to the park today for this "Obamafest" thing near the bandshell, I guess I won't be seeing some of you for at least 2 weeks.

I hope I get to hang with a bunch of you today. I'll be there from 12 noon until 4:00.

Here's a little map showing where this event is taking place. It's near the bandshell, but not in the bandshell, okay? I think we're gonna be a little bit south of it.

NOW... this is not an event that I had a hand in organizing. Some people who I've never actually met approached me over the internet to be a part of this thing, and I told them that I'm available to help out in any way I can. So, I just wanna help some good people who wanna make a difference and try to make the United States of America somewhat recognizable again after this November's election. It's something called "Obama-fest" near The Bandshell. (12 noon - 4:00)

No. No... he won't be singing with me this weekend. I was just havin' a little fun. (But, I can assure you all, reading this across the country and around the world... I don't think this image is half as disturbing as the image of this man in the Oval Office!)

I know there are always people visiting here who have NO idea what I do! And like I always say, I know there are people reading this in different parts of the country and different parts of the world.

Well... Thursday night I was playing a little barbecue gig at H.I. New York Performance Hall... which is located at Hostelling Internationals most beautiful youth hostel.

After the my set, a young guy from Denmark comes up to me and says, "That song you played, that one about Tom Cruise being scary... did you write that?"

I, of course... y'know... admitted that I did. And, he said, "Oh man! Me and my friends in Denmark love that song. Did you know there's a video of that song on YouTube!?"

I just started laughing. I think that is soooooo fucking cool! The world is getting to be a very small campus!
