Okay... who's the luckiest man alive?

(I am, right?)

I mean, who gets to just write songs and sing them for people, and remain completely independent as a Creative Spirit.

I always say this... I think it woulda been really cool if my high school guidance counselor woulda said, "Hmmmmm, let's see. With your aptitude, David, I'd have to say you might wanna look at a career in... um... let's see. Business? No. Health-care? Um... no. Guitar Man from Central Park.... yes. Yes, I think that's what you're best suited for."

Welcome to everybody reading this across the country and in different parts of the world.

But, if you were here in New York... were you out in Central Park with me last Saturday?

Damn! Another Golden Day!

This is gonna be a fun week.

Starting tomorrow, here at the website we'll kick off a few days of covering the Democratic National Convention.

Now, I know there are always people visiting here who have NO idea what I do! So, let me just start this update off again by making a few songs available as FREE downloads. Here are a few more...

CRAZY ON THE SAME DAY
WHERE'S THE VOICE
TOM CRUISE SCARES ME
JESUSLAND

And, if you're new... here's a Super Update from a couple of weeks ago with a full gallery toward the bottom of the page! Knock yourself out...

LAST NIGHT!!!

I just had a blast!

I threw my guitar on my back and made the rounds. First I was invited to sit in at the SGA Songwriter's Circle in the Village. That was hoot. I was honored once again to share a stage with some of the most brilliant songwriters in this town. And, some of them are just pee-in-your-pants funny.

Then it was up to Jim Caruso's Cast Party. (Yeah, I always feel a little like a fish-outta-water at that fancy-schmancy gig. But, Jim is the best in the business at what he does and besides being a colleague has become a friend.) Then... at midnight it was aaalllllllll the way downtown to do the Joey Reynolds Show on the radio LIVE... because they called and told me they were surprising my buddy, Sid Bernstein, with an on-air birthday party. (That roped me in!) I hadda go. Well... I'll tell you about the rest of the night in tomorrow's update.

Hey listen, sincerely... thanks again.

I hope you keep stopping by here every day. And if you dig this kinda thing, I hope you turn a few friends onto it as well. (If you don't like this kinda thing... um.. uh... how the hell did you get all the way to the bottom of this page!?)

The rest of you... keep in touch.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
