OKAY!
I said, "Yes"!

I dig anything that begins with "vice"
But first things first. Before the convention, I have a few more gigs to play. Then I'll be happy to see what this new job entails.
Hey... do you wanna help me close out the "Sunset on the Hudson" concert series tonight?
Yeah. Believe it or not, TONIGHT is the last night down there on Pier 45 in Hudson River Park. It's the very last installment of the series for 2008. (Hmmmmm. If you guys liked this gig, maybe you can email Ian Kaley of HRPT and just tell him how much you dug it.)
.
This was by far the best year and the most fun I've ever had down there. So, let's close it out together... tonight. (Especially the below-fourteenth-street crowd.) 7:00 tonight on Pier 45 all the way at the end of Christopher Street in The Village.
Thanks to HRPT and Ian and the whole crew that staffed the thing... especially Stephanie and those who road the sound board.
THEN TOMORROW!!!
Let's all head into Central Park to do what we do. Got a feeling after last week we're in for another typically-amazing afternoon. Got some new songs I'd like to run by you guys and I wanna dig up a few classics.
I might even have a couple of special guests sit in.

Don't worry. The Central Park gig is not ending.
Summer's not over until... we say it is!
"Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor!?"
Germans?
(Forget it. He's on a roll.)
Well, it ain't over now! We've got permits all the way through September at least. And, I'm thinkin' we'll do something very cool for Labor Day Weekend.
Then MONDAY NIGHT... it's the SGA songwriter's Circle on Bleecker Street in The Village. And, that gig is FREE as well. (I think I'm gonna run a brand new song past you guys with a fiddle player I just hooked up with... Chris Tedesco.)
.
Oh hey! Welcome to everyone reading this in different parts of the country and around the world. And if you're gonna be here in New York City, I hope I see you at one of the places I'm playing tonight and tomorrow.
Listen, I know I promised you some video from last weekend. It will be here really soon. I've posted dozens of videos of you guys here over the past few years and it's really cool, because you can let all your friends and family around the world share in the day you had in Central Park in some small way. But, I started to work on it yesterday and the damnedest thing happen. somehow the transfer isn't happening from the camera to Quicktime to imovie so I can't load it up on Mevio to let you guys watch it! (Sounds a little convoluted, I know. It's just a long-winded way of saying it's either a little fucked up right now or I just don't know what I'm doing!)
I think I'll be able to sit down in front of this computer with James Marino, the webmaster and evil genius who runs this site, and get the video thing resolved.
Cool?
Damn!
But, what a great time we had last Saturday.
Okay. Moving on...
Like I said earlier this week, I decided it was time for someone to sit down with Bill and Hillary Clinton and talk some sense to them. (Not at the same time, because it's hard to catch them together at the same time.)But, it's about time for someone to sit down with Hillary Clinton and tell her relax and settle into her role as another professional career politician who will get comfortable working in the Senate... y'know, get out of the way, stop hurting the Obama candidacy and settle into a life of compromising her principles in the U.S. Senate. I told her in she's really just in for a very prosperous career doing Sunday morning talk shows and writing books. I put it to her that way and she seemed very receptive to the scenario. (Turns out, millionaires aren't really that hard to appeal to and persuade about certain things.)

But, when it comes to Bill Clinton... a man who I still contend is by far the most all-round gifted and intelligent person who's occupied the Oval Office in my adult life... and now a man who is very nearly losing all my respect for him...
I thought it was time somebody got his ear and whispered at the top of my lungs.
"Sit Down! Shut Up! Get off the stage!"

Moving on... um... again.
All of you who put your email addresses in that little book last weekend or took a card home with you... I'll be in touch very soon to let you know about that video concert I was talkin' about. AND, I promise I will let you know what's goin' on as the "Year-End Concert" gets closer. (Yeah, yeah... I know it's only August. But who knows when a lot of us'll see each other again!)
Hey, let me keep the feeling going by giving something away right now to anyone who's new around here! Here's a FREE download.
CRAZY ON THE SAME DAY
Now, listen... I told you guys about an idea I had about doing an internet-video concert to have a "Conversation with the Swing States" about the upcoming election in November.
So, you can imagine how surprised I was when... well...
I was speechless when this guy showed up in the park last Saturday. And, breathless when he said he wanted to sing. (And incredulous when he took his shirt off.) But, what the hell. He wanted to sing "Bomb Iran" but I wouldn't let him. I told him the jokes he repeatedly makes about killing Iranian people aren't funny, and that the thought of him in the Oval Office is about as scary as it gets. So instead, he sang a medley of ABBA hits. That was weird... but safer.

This man is a nightmare. We have work to do.
(sigh)
I know there are always people visiting here who have NO idea what I do!
So, I very often like to make a few songs available as FREE downloads. Here are a few more...
CRAZY ON THE SAME DAY
WHERE'S THE VOICE
TOM CRUISE SCARES ME
JESUSLAND
Anyway... everybody, there's always a lot of cool stuff goin' on around here. I'm just makin' this shit up as I go along.. (Photoshop images, political cartoons, FREE songs to download.)
In fact... there was a Super Update a couple of weeks ago with a full gallery! Knock yourself out..
I hope you keep stopping by here every day. And if you dig this kinda thing, I hope you turn a few friends onto it as well. (If you don't like this kinda thing... um.. uh... how the hell did you get all the way to the bottom of this page!?)
The rest of you... keep in touch.
Thanks for everything.
