Iffy.

Iffy... yeah, it's kind of a word.

And, it pretty accurately describes the chances of us getting together on "The Hill" in Central Park to do what we do.

.

When I first woke up this morning I said:

"I think there's a really, really good chance that, here in New York City, we're just gonna get a couple of sprinkles just before noon... and then the rain is gonna split off to the north and south of the city."

But now I'm thinkin'... nope.

Because of what I do, I've been watching the radar like farmer for the past 17 years. Now, I'm just gonna hafta say that right around 1:30 or 2:00 in the afternoon... we're gonna get HAMMERED.

So this is lookin' like a rainout.

I'm gonna keep one eye on the satellite radar imagery and another on the sky. If there is ANY chance of heading out to Central Park today... I'll be there. But, it doesn't look good.

Check back in a little while, okay?

I'll be in the park tomorrow, though!!! for something a little different! (More about that further down the page.)

By the way, if you were down on Pier 45 in Hudson River Park for the "Sunset Concert Series" last night, than you sooooo much. What a great, great night. I really had a good time with you guys.

Okay... tomorrow - SUNDAY - I'm heading back into Central Park to help some good people with an event they've put together to try to make the United States of America somewhat recognizable again after this November's election. It's something called "Obama-fest" near The Bandshell. (12 noon - 4:00)

Seriously, try to get a few friends together and join me this weekend... either in the park today or tomorrow. Or, just come by yourself and hang with all these really great people in the middle of the coolest city on the planet.

I did get quite a few emails regarding this disturbing image from Tuesday's update...

No. No... he won't be singing with me this weekend. I was just havin' a little fun. (But, I can assure you all, reading this across the country and around the world... I don't think this image is half as disturbing as the image of this man in the Oval Office!)

However, I am hoping I'll see all of you who are here in New York City this weekend... at any one of the events I'm playing. Got 3 of 'em lined up for Friday, Saturday and Sunday!

TOM CRUISE

I know there are always people visiting here who have NO idea what I do! And like I always say, I know there are people reading this in different parts of the country and different parts of the world.

Well... Thursday night I was playing a little barbecue gig at H.I. New York Performance Hall... which is located at Hostelling Internationals most beautiful youth hostel.

.

After the my set, a young guy from Denmark comes up to me and says, "That song you played, that one about Tom Cruise being scary... did you write that?"

I, of course... y'know... admitted that I did. And, he said, "Oh man! Me and my friends in Denmark love that song. Did you know there's a video of that song on YouTube!?"

I just started laughing. I think that is soooooo fucking cool! The world is getting to be a very small campus!

So, I very often like to make a few songs available as FREE downloads. Here are a few more...

CRAZY ON THE SAME DAY
WHERE'S THE VOICE
TOM CRUISE SCARES ME
JESUSLAND

Anyway... everybody, there's always a lot of cool stuff goin' on around here. I'm just makin' this shit up as I go along.. (Photoshop images, political cartoons, FREE songs to download.)

In fact... there was a Super Update a couple of weeks ago with a full gallery! Knock yourself out..

I hope you keep stopping by here every day. And if you dig this kinda thing, I hope you turn a few friends onto it as well. (If you don't like this kinda thing... um.. uh... how the hell did you get all the way to the bottom of this page!?)

The rest of you... keep in touch.

Thanks for everything.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
