Got the BIG picnic event coming up in less than 2 weeks. I tell you all about that in a minute. But first, I hafta ask...

What's all the fuss about?

I mean, I really only read The New York Times. But, once in while I pick up The Daily News for the sports page, comics and the crossword puzzle.

But, EVERY day there's another A-Rod headline on the two tabloid papers... "The Daily News" and "The Rag"... I mean, The Post.

C'mon... every day!

Seems they're all trying to link Alex Rodriguez with Madonna, who lives right across the street from "The Hill" where I play in Central Park.

But, what's the big deal!? Weren't you guys out there with me that day I played "Can't Help Falling in Love" and those two crazy kids came out and danced.

No big deal.

A-Rod's marriage is over?

Um.... hey... New York... WHO GIVES A SHIT!!!

Okay... movin' on.

.

Y'KNOW WHAT'S COMING UP IN 2 WEEKS!!!?

Our first backyard picnic and music festival - - on July 19th!

But... YOU ALL HAFTA SHOW UP FOR IT!

Seriously, it's gonna be a ridiculously fun afternoon of great music no matter what! But, if this thing doesn't get a great turnout, I'm afraid the powers that be at this wonderful new venue will lose their enthusiasm for the "possibilities" I have in mind for this place... outdoors AND inside the Music Hall this winter. So... grab some friends and make plans to be there!!!

Listen, you can put your name on the entrance list right here, right now... TODAY here at the website! (A little further down this page) And, this gig is ONLY $10 for a whole afternoon of music!!!

Right now it looks like these artists are lining up to play.

So far... I think we'll have at least 2 of my favorites who I've introduced to you guys at different events and venues. The amazing KARLUS TRAPP and the beautiful and talented young singer/songwriter CASSANDRA KUBINSKI.

.
Click on their photos to visit their websites.

And, we're also gonna be joined by a couple of fine artists I was just introduced to... 2 people who have real 60s vibe goin' on... Ivy Vale & Rick Reil (of The Grip Weeds and The Wyld Olde Souls)

You'll be able to bring a picnic blanket, food, cold drinks... hang out and listen to a lineup of wonderful, really fun artists all afternoon. (Bring a bunch of friends and bring a little something extra to share with your fellow music lovers. Or, if you want... come by yourself and make new friends.

Saturday afternoon, July 19th (12:00 - 5:00)

The backyard grounds of H.I. New York Performance Hall

.

Call a bunch of friends and get your tickets today!!! Of course this thing will be general admission, just gonna find a p-lace to put your picnic blanket, and the whole afternoon of music is only $10. Here's the link to get your name put on the list at the gate:

.

Go ahead... call a few friends and put your name on the list!

Sound good?

Cool.

Anyway... everybody, go ahead and click on this link to hit the "Archive" page". There's a lot of cool stuff on this site. (Photoshop images, political cartoons, FREE songs to download.)

In fact... there was a Super Update last week with a full gallery! Knock yourself out..

I hope you keep stopping by here every day. And if you dig this kinda thing, I hope you turn a few friends onto it as well.

Keep in touch.

Thanks for everything.

All outdoor events are weather permitting! Stop by the website before you go if it is questionable.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
