Well, what can I say except...

THANK YOU, GUYS!

Thanks to every single person who showed up at "The Hill" for OPENING DAY yesterday.

Yeah, the weather looked a little sketchy at first. But, y'know? There were a whole lot of "Hill" regulars who came out. It was good to see all of your smiling faces after a long, long winter. And, to all of you from different parts of the country and different parts of the world who hung out with us for the first time yesterday.... WELCOME to the website. I hope you keep checking back, no matter where you live, and keep in touch. You can also take a look through the "Archives" to see what's been goin' on around here. The world is getting so small and that's a beautiful thing.

If you're here in New York City and you love singing in Central Park every weekend, you oughta know that this year I've been told by Claudia Pepe in the Permit Office of the Parks Department that she's sticking to her decision to withhold a Special Events Permit for one Saturday a month.... just because... and so I won't be out in the park this coming Saturday.

So sorry.

It's really very unfortunate, but what're ya gonna do. It's just what it is.

However... I will be playing a benefit concert to help in the fight against Lou Gerhig's Disease (ALS) this Saturday instead. (More about that a little further down the page.)

BUT... I might as well start announcing this now. (Because the tickets are already on sale and people in the park yesterday were psyched for this event!)

I've decided that if the Permit Office is going to go back on the handshake deal I made with Park Administrator Doug Blonskey back in 2000, that's their business. I'm gonna go ahead and turn it into a Good thing and schedule concerts in a great new venue outside the park!

And so right now, TODAY... you can reserve seats for "THE JUNE CONCERT" at H.I. New York Performance Hall, to be held on the Saturday they won't let us sing in the park.

Yep!!!

Okay, it's actually only 4 weeks away!

SATURDAY NIGHT - JUNE 7th

Dodger's back! Dodger's back!

So you can start reserving your seats NOW!

Today! You know the deal! We just hang out and sing, make it up as we go along, make it all about the music and well... y'know, "it's just us". I'm gonna roll out few brand new songs that are still kinda works-in-progress. I'm gonna introduce you all to a new female artist. Janet and Dave will be sharing the stage with me again.

AND, Dodger's back!

DON'T GET SOLD OUT OF THIS ONE! Seating at H.I.N.Y. is general admission and ALL the seats are only $20. Here's the link to reserve seats and get your name put on the list at the door:

SATURDAY NIGHT, June 7th - 8:00

.
H.I.N.Y. PERFORMANCE HALL (Amsterdam Ave @ 103rd Street)

Really hope you call a few friends and decide to hang with me for a night of music and laughs.

AND NOW...

... FOR THOSE OF YOU OUT ON LONG ISLAND!

Here's a flier about something I'm gonna do out on the Island later this month.. It's got all the correct information on it. In case you live out there and you missed the initial announcement, I was asked by this really nice guy to be a part of a benefit concert to raise money to help fight a horrible, horrible disease... ALS. (Or, Lou Gerhig's Disease)

Now, here's the thing. Last week I said it was in Wantagh. It's not. It's in Centereach. Okay? As it gets closer, I'll tell you a personal story about ALS, how it relates to "The Hill in Central Park and why I was so honored to be asked to help out. (PLUS, I think it's gonna be a really fun show.)

Okay, I'm outta here.

But, seriously... check back really soon to reserve seats for the JUNE CONCERT. Start calling a few friends and make plans!

Hopefully I'll see you in the park as often as I can!!!!

Thanks for everything.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
