Here it is... another perfect Spring day here in New York City.
Man! I hope you get out to the park or somethin' today.
I'm so sorry that I was unable to hang on "The Hill" with you guys yesterday. But, thank you to every single person who showed up lookin' for me. I received a whole bunch of email from disappointed people! And though it's sucks that you're bummed, it's gratifying to me to know that you guys were lookin' to hang out and share another afternoon of music and laughs.

See? You GOTTA check this site more often!!! Yeah, of you're new here I hafta tell you that this kinda thing is likely to happen a number of times over the summer. There's a woman heading up the Permit Office who has a new idea about how to issue our Special Events Permits. (Not at all like the agreement Park Administrator Doug Blonskey and I shook hands on back in 2000) But, y'know? It's her department I guess. I'm just goin' with it. It sucks, but what're ya gonna do. I'm an artist, not a politician or a bureaucrat.
Yesterday's situation, however did give me a chance to head out to Long Island and play a benefit concert for a wonderful guy named Mick DuRussell. He put together a gig to help raise money to fight ALS. (Lou Gerhig's Disease) And while the turnout was disappointing for that gig as well... the most important thing is that we try.
Y'know?
Besides... I got to road trip for the first time with my buddy, Mr. Sid Bernstein.

And, I met some really cool and interesting people. (Damn! I love my life!)
Okay listen... I've already been told we're not gonna get a Special Events Permit for Saturday, June 7th either!!!
So, I decided to put up another one of our concerts in the newest music venue on the Upper West side - H.I. New York Performance Hall. (That's only about 3 weeks away. So, you might wanna start thinking about calling a few friends and reserving seats now.)
You can do that right here... right now if you want. Today! You know the deal! We just hang out and sing, make it up as we go along, make it all about the music and well... y'know, "It's just us". I'm gonna roll out few brand new songs that are still kinda works-in-progress. I'm gonna introduce you all to a new female artist.... Julie Kathryn.
DON'T GET SOLD OUT OF THIS ONE! Seating at H.I.N.Y. is general admission and ALL the seats are only $20. Here's the link to reserve seats and get your name put on the list at the door:
SATURDAY NIGHT, June 7th - 8:00
Roger Bartlett will be there, and Janet Kirker and Dave Marcus. And hopefully YOU. It's actually only about 3 weeks away!

Really hope you call a few friends and decide to hang with me for a night of music and laughs.
And, we'll sing "Keep Hope Alive"
Like our surprise guest did a couple of Saturday's ago.

Now, this new tune, this work-in-progress... this song was NOT written to relate to the Obama campaign in any way. It was written around a voice mail I received from Sid Bernstein one morning. But, it's kinda interesting that I've been approached by so many anti-Obama people who think I wrote it for Senator Obama's campaign. (Kinda funny that they dislike a man they so closely associate with something as despicable... as HOPE!)
Here... I made this really, really rough demo available as a free download for you here at the site so you can learn it and sing it with us on June 7th.

Okay, I'm outta here. Check back tomorrow.
But, seriously... check back really soon to reserve seats for the JUNE CONCERT. Start calling a few friends and make plans!
Hopefully I'll see you in the park as often as I can!!!!
Thanks for everything.
