Okay, so I missed the update yesterday... AGAIN!

Sorry.

Welcome to all of you across the country and in different parts of the world who are reading this. And, to everyone who's here in New York City or is going to be on the weekend of June 7th... we've got another really, really fun concert coming up at H.I. New York Performance Hall on the Upper West Side. (More about that in a minute.)

So, no update yesterday. I had a day of running around town... cell phone nightmare. (I'm thinking it';s gonna be time really soon to make the jump to the iphone. Maybe when the next generation comes out. Yesterday, my Sprint Sanyo phone just started acting as if it was possessed by demons... flashing and doing shit all by itself. Thought I could get it repaired, but after 40 minutes of waiting, the guy says there's "water-damage". (That phone hasn't been within a quarter mile of water!) Unless, maybe... maybe... um... maybe I shouldn't be making those important phone calls in the shower.

Oh well. It was time for a new phone.

(Like you needed to know all this.)

Anyway, listen... I'm NOT gonna be in the park this weekend, even if the weather is good.

If you're here in New York City and you love singing in Central Park every weekend, you oughta know that this year I've been told by Claudia Pepe in the Permit Office of the Parks Department that she's sticking to her decision to withhold a Special Events Permit for one Saturday a month.... just because... and so I won't be out in the park this coming Saturday.

No big deal. It's really very unfortunate, but what're ya gonna do. It's just what it is.

BUT... for all of you out on Long Island... I AM gonna be doing a set in a benefit to help fight ALS. (Lou Gerhig's Disease) out in Suffolk County. And, Mr. Sid Bernstein, the man who brought The Beatles to America, is gonna introduce me. It's gonna be pretty cool. (More about that further down the page.)

TODAY... right now... maybe you oughta be thinking about calling a few friends and reserving tickets for the concert coming up on June 7th here in NYC. DON'T GET SOLD OUTTA THIS ONE! I've got a really wonderful guest artists who I know you're gonna love. No... not our surprise guest singer who stopped by "The Hill" in Central Park last Saturday afternoon.

Yeah, he happened by and wanted to sing one of my newest song... "Keep Hope Alive". He'd heard about it after my last concert at H.I. New York Performance Hall. But, no... he's not gonna be there... I don't think! But, I'm gonna introduce you all to Julie Kathryn. And, Roger Bartlett will be there, and Janet Kirker and Dave Marcus. And hopefully YOU. It's actually only about 3 weeks away!

SATURDAY NIGHT - JUNE 7th

So you can start reserving your seats NOW!

Today! You know the deal! We just hang out and sing, make it up as we go along, make it all about the music and well... y'know, "it's just us". I'm gonna roll out few brand new songs that are still kinda works-in-progress. I'm gonna introduce you all to a new female artist. I'm psyched that Janet and Dave will be sharing the stage with me again.

DON'T GET SOLD OUT OF THIS ONE! Seating at H.I.N.Y. is general admission and ALL the seats are only $20. Here's the link to reserve seats and get your name put on the list at the door:

SATURDAY NIGHT, June 7th - 8:00

.
H.I.N.Y. PERFORMANCE HALL (Amsterdam Ave @ 103rd Street)

Really hope you call a few friends and decide to hang with me for a night of music and laughs.

And, we'll sing "Keep Hope Alive"

Promise. And check back this weekend, because I'm gonna make the rough scratch demo.... the first run at this new tune... I'm gonna make it a free download for you here at the site.

OKAY, NOW!!!

About this benefit concert I'm gonna be playing to help in the fight against Lou Gerhig's Disease (ALS) this Saturday instead of playing in Central Park.

IF YOU'RE OUT ON LONG ISLAND!

Here's a flier about the gig.. It's got all the correct information on it.

I'm told my set will be around 5:30 or 6:00

In case you live out there and you missed the initial announcement, I was asked by this really nice guy to be a part of a benefit concert. Like I said, Sid's comin' with me and I think we're gonna have a blast!

It's in Centereach. Okay? I think it's gonna be a really fun show.

Okay, I'm outta here. Check back tomorrow.

But, seriously... check back really soon to reserve seats for the JUNE CONCERT. Start calling a few friends and make plans!

Hopefully I'll see you in the park as often as I can!!!!

Thanks for everything.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
