Hey... welcome to the website.
Okay, it's Tax Day.

This year, I sent my taxes in with all the proper forms, but I added a little note with a few very specific instructions for them. (You can read the note at the bottom of this page.)
If you stress about this kinda stuff at this time of year, take it easy today. Go with it. Smile and do something cool for yourself.
And if you live in New York City like I do, think about this...
The weather's great! We're talkin' about Spring! It's here. Hopefully it won't be long before we're back out at "The Hill" in Central Park to do what we've been doing out there for the past 16 summers.

Yeah, holy shit! This is the 17th summer! (I'm a very lucky man.)
There are so many cool things on the horizon. Anyone who knows me at all knows that I am an unapologetic possibility-junkie.
Well, I will be announcing the next indoor concert at the brand new H.I. New York Performance Hall on the Upper West Side, as well as another taping of the pilot for the new video series "What's Behind the Song?". I'm just kicking around the details with Tim Westwig.
Listen, one more time... I wanna say again THANKS to every single person who's helping out with this year's PERMIT FUND. (Actually, by donating something to the permit fun, you help support everything that goes on around here - this website, the podcasts, the concerts, all of these projects.)

I love doing what I do. I love my life and I love writing songs and sharing them with all of you. I'm a very lucky man.
Okay... here are the most recent podcasts!!!
HERE'S THE MOST RECENT EPISODE OF THE ORIGINAL PODCAST:
"I Love the Company" (Show #364)
I'm playing a song requested by a listener... a song by a fellow-artist ad friend who will certainly be a guest artist joining me on stage at H.I. New York Performance Hall.

SHOW 364
Cool? My musical guest on ILTC: Karlus Trapp (Click on his photo to visit his website, find out more about him, where he's playing, and how to get his music.)

AND NOW... the brand new installment of the sister-podcast, the more politically-minded and socially conscious sister podcast called "Where's the Voice". Today, we'll play a couple of tracks of music and go with last week's noise from Bill Clinton to General Petraeus. And once again, I'm gonna play SOME OF YOUR PHONE COMMENTS!!!

Use it to chime in and leave a message for either podcast, a comment, a request, an opinion, or just say "Hey" and let me know where in the country or the world your listening.

MY LETTER TO THE IRS
Dear IRS ~
I understand that President Bush recently called for a complete overhaul of the tax code. He said he was shocked to find out that some millionaires in this country were still paying taxes. Now, I'm sure his tax returns are a little different than mine. I mean, I'm an independent artist and the money I pay probably couldn't buy pencils in your department. But, I understand Bush claimed the Christian Right as dependents, he declared the 2000 election as a gift, and he tried to write off all the mileage he got from 9/11. * I don't think that's really very fair.
Me personally, I want the money I pay this government to help pave a few roads, support getting medical help to children who need it, help out with a program to feed the hungry... maybe even just help pay for a traffic light somewhere.
I DO NOT want a nickel to go toward George W. Bush's salary. (He's not my president.)
I DO NOT want a nickel to go to Dick Cheney's salary. (He's a torture-endorsing criminal.)
I DO NOT want a nickel to go toward this illegal, immoral, colossally stupid, historically ignorant, wholly unAmerican war in Iraq. (It would only disappear into Ahmed Chalabi's pocket anyway!)
Thanks a bunch
~ David Ippolito
