Welcome to the website. A LOT goin' on around here.

We're planning a number of really cool musical events over at H.I. New York Performance Hall, as well as another taping of the new video project "What's Behind the Song?" (More about that really soon.)

AND... as promised, there's a brand new installment of the podcast "Where's the Voice" here today. (A little further down the page.)

It's a new week. But over the summer-like weekend here in NYC, I fielded about a million emails about WHEN I'm heading out to Central Park for another season of being "That Guitar Man".

Damn! It's such a cool thing, and this would be the 17th summer!

Gotta tell you. Back in January, I submitted and paid for the applications for all the Special Events permits this year. I hope the first date is set Saturday, May 3. As of yet, I haven't received any word or paperwork from the people in the Parks Department, and I can't go to the NYPD for the necessary Sound Device Permits until I have those others in hand. (Personally, I'm staying one step ahead of a shaky feeling about how they're gonna handle us this year. I'm afraid the thinking is to arbitrarily reduce the number of days we get to share music and laughs out there on "The Hill".)

We'll see how that all plays out, hah?

Anyway, this week...

IT'S TAX TIME!

Y'know, Barack Obama keeps talkin' about change, and all the other candidates are following suit and talking about change. All the pundits keep talking about change. I think one reason may be that change is about all most of ordinary people have left! (Okay... yeah, at times I get weary of being poor. But, y'know what!? I wouldn't trade places with another human being on the face of the earth. I love my life and I love music... and, I love the company! Thanks for being here!)

Oh yeah, and one more time for that really cool group of young kids from Philadelphia who hung out with me at that gig last Thursday night... here are a few of the FREE downloads I promised you!

"Tom Cruise Scares Me"

"Bill O'Reilly: the Legend of the Big Giant Head"

"Where's the Voice"

And, a new one for you... (A work-in-progress)

You might wanna look for these and a few more on YouTube!

Once again, I wanna thank my friends and colleagues, Christine Lavin and Galia Arad, for being such a great musical guests at my last concert, and my buddy Sid Bernstein for lending his remarkable spirit to everything I try to do. We've got other shows comin' up and I'm gonna be introducing you guys to some more amazing singer/songwriters... both new and established. Gonna be a kick!

AND... I wanna say again THANKS to every single person who's helping out with this year's PERMIT FUND. (Actually, by donating something to the permit fun, you help support everything that goes on around here - this website, the podcasts, the concerts, all of these projects.)

I love doing what I do. I love my life and I love writing songs and sharing them with all of you. I'm a very lucky man.

Okay... PODCAST TIME

Now, I promised you that there would be a follow-up show to the most recent "Where's the Voice" just last Friday. So, here it is.

After you listen to both podcasts, I'm gonna ask you one more time to call with absolutely anything you wanna say. Use this phone number for you to call to be a part of all this... right here. Use it to chime in and leave a message for either podcast, a comment, a request, an opinion, or just say "Hey" and let me know where in the country or the world your listening.

FIRST... brand new installment of the sister-podcast, the more politically-minded and socially conscious sister podcast to the original "I Love the Company" called "Where's the Voice". Today, we'll play a couple of tracks of music and go with last week's noise from Bill Clinton to General Petraeus. And once again, I'm gonna play SOME OF YOUR PHONE COMMENTS!!!

Okay... gotta run.

But, spread the word and keep checking back to find out where we're gonna be hangin' out. Y'know, check back to find out about the next concert at H.I.N.Y and when we're gonna get out to "The Hill"

Thanks again for everything

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
