Hey!

Hope you all had a great weekend! Welcome to the website. But y'know? Saturday, the thermometer hit around 60 degrees here in New York City. So, we must be gettin' close to those afternoons in Central Park and that feels good, hah?

I'll be back with 2 new podcasts very soon.

But, for today... I am pressed to do this semi-annually. (You people out there who know me at all know how uncomfortable I've been in the past around this time of year and this little program. But, with the help of friends and fellow-artists, I'm getting over it and finally getting to a place where I can ask you all to be a part of this... I can ask for your support.)

If YOU missed the first go 'round with the Permit Fund for 2008, here's your chance to help out one mo' time. (Actually, by donating something to the permit fun, you help support everything that goes on around here - this website, the podcasts, the concerts, all of these projects.)

Seriously... I'm so grateful to every single person who's helped out in the past. But, as I always say.... YOU are more important than your money. So, if you can't or just don't feel like helping out with money, just make sure you keep showing up in the park to share some music and a few laughs.

Okay... 'nough about that for now. Let me just say this one more time.

Thanks!

And... I also have to say from the bottom of my heart...

THANK YOU

...to every single one of you who showed up last Friday night for the very first dry-run at the new series:

And, there simply are not enough words to express my thanks to our very first guest artist, Mr. Jake Holmes. (What a fascinating time we had discussing music, art, life, his career... just a great, great time that went by waaaaayyy to fast. He's GOTTA come back and be the guest again when we get this thing off the ground.

But for now, at least it's already heading down the runway.... thanks to those of you who showed up. I'm gonna have more to say all this week about the whole experience. And like I said last night, I wanna hear from all of you. I wanna hear suggestions, comments - what worked, what you really liked about this project, what you think can be done differently or a little better. You are all a part of this, now.

So, hit the "Contact" button up there to send me a detailed email with your thoughts. Or, just pick up the phone and leave a brief message or comment.

646-224-8162

(And, I have all your names and emails. So, when last night's show id edited down, I'm gonna eventually get every one of you a FREE copy of the show last night on DVD.)

Okay, I know there are always people reading this page in different parts of the country and different parts of the world. So if you're new around here... hit the "Archive" button over there to take a look back at some updates. There's a lot of really cool shit at this website. Just don't have the time or the energy right now to add to today's update.

I'll be back tomorrow.

Thanks again.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
