Okay... you're just gonna hafta trust me today.

And, I'm gonna have to trust you... because I'm going to take one of those risks today.

Now, you guys know that I love my life. I love making music. I smile more than I don't and when we get together to share music, we usually laugh about as much as we sing.

You know what I'm all about.

Now, next Saturday night we're all gonna get together again in the brand new H.I New York Performance Hall for another typically great night of music and good, good energy. ('ll tell you all about that in a minute. In fact, you can reserve seats right here, today, at this website.)

But, I have to feature something on this website today that I wish I didn't.

Again, I have to trust that the people who dig my music and who really know how to live will not throw their hands up and say, "Why would we go to see this guy on Saturday night. I don't wanna feel bad!"

I'm not about feeling bad. I'm really not. And, I promise that Saturday night is gonna be fun! We're gonna have a blast! But, this is important and so this is a risk I'm just going to have to take today.

While the network news organizations are covering endless election polls, and sexually challenged governors, and the stock market, and yak-yak-yak...

These 2 unAmerican, spiritually vacant men have reached a milestone that even Osama Bin Laden can only dream of.

They did it!

And, at the same time hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of thousands of Iraqi men, women and children.... CHILDREN... have been brutally killed and maimed in this colossally stupid, historically ignorant, morally-repugnant nightmare. (Nearly 1000 more this month alone.)

.

A moment...

...then scroll down to get back to music and life.

But, sorry. I hafta pay attention.

.

.

.

.

.

.

Now, like I said, this coming Saturday night... we're gonna have one of those typically good, good times hangin' together, sharing a night of music and laughs - just that really, really good feeling we get out in Central Park.

Next Saturday night at 7:30

Y'know?

I just had a great time on Friday sitting with my guest artist, Galia, to kick around some music and ideas for what we're gonna do next Saturday. Man! You guys are gonna dig her! She really makes music for all the right reasons. And, like I said... my good friend and colleague, Christine Lavin has said she would show up to do a couple of songs and be a part of this new concert series in this brand new venue on the Upper West Side of Manhattan - - the H.I. New York Performance Hall

.
My two musical guests, Christine Lavin and Galia - and maybe a couple of surprises.

We're gonna have a blast, the audience is gonna be filled with other artists, music people, music lovers... well, if you've ever been to one of my gigs, you know what the feeling is like. This is gonna be a typically special night. AND, we're all gonna be able to make this new venue into our musical home of sorts. Y'know, a place you can check out often to see what's going on there. this concert is just the beginning. Janet Kirker and David Marcus are gonna be on stage with me again. It's gonna be a blast.

.
H.I New York Performance Hall - Amsterdam Ave @ 103rd Street

You can show up that night and pay cash at the door. (It's only $20 for any seat.) AND... it's kinda 2-for-1. Because if you show up next Saturday, you'll get a ticket to attend the first taping of the music series "What's Behind the Song" the following weekend for FREE! But there are only about 100 seats left. So, click on this thing if you wanna reserve seats right now. (This puts your name on the list at the door.)

.

"What's Behind the Song" is gonna be a 90 minute, interview/music/open-discussion show with questions from the audience all about the mysterious and wonderful Creative process of songwriting.... with various songwriters. (Who, as you know, are generally a crazy bunch of people.) This oughta be really cool. We're gonna shoot these things, edit them down and put them all on DVD.

You're invited to attend the very first one the following Friday, April 4th at H.I.N.Y.

If you come to the concert on the 29th, you'll receive a ticket to the taping the next weekend for FREE!!! My first guest is a great guy and a wonderful songwriter with a really interesting career.... Jake Holmes.

Okay...

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
