Okay... got some BIG news about the upcoming concert!!!

Seriously.

But, FIRST!!!

Gotta start you off this week with a TREMENDOUS SMILE! (And make sure, wherever you are, you applaud at the bow.)

Sent in by a "Hill Person" down in Florida, Steve Major

Yay!!!

Okay now... you guys all know that I am "That Guitar Man from Central Park", and I have been for a whole truckload of years. But these days I'm so, so jazzed about this new Concert Series and the music/interview series "What's Behind the Song" in the brand new, Upper-West-Side music venue, H.I. New York Performance Hall.

Okay, well... I've been talking to lots of songwriters, lots of unknown artists, a couple of famous artists and music people about surrounding this project with energy and good will, excitement and enthusiasm. Just yesterday I was kicking all the possibilities around with my friend and colleague, folk-legend Christine Lavin, and she was so excited about this gig, she decided to jump right in.

.
My two musical guests, Christine Lavin and Galia - and maybe a couple of surprises.

Besides having a really wonderful new young singer/songwriter named Galia as my first musical guest, Christine's said she's on board to show up and do a couple of songs. (This is gonna be sooooo fucking cool.) Janet Kirker and David Marcus are gonna be on stage with me again. It's gonna be a blast.

So, seriously... if you are free Saturday night, March 29th, call a few friends and reserve some seats for yourselves as soon as you can. This one is gonna be something special. (Mainly because this venue and this idea is still such a baby. New stuff like this in a great city like this is always exciting.) AND if you come to the gig on the 29th, you'll get a ticket to attend the very first "What's Behind the Song" for FREE.

Cool?

Here... click on this thing to reserve as many seats as you want. The tickets started selling well this weekend. If you wanna reserve seats for the concert, you can do it right now. (Reserving seats this way puts your name on the list at the door!)

.

This is the new music hall in Manhattan. Let's make it our home... a central place for new music and artists!

I'm also thinkin' I'm gonna be rolling out at least 2 brand new songs of my own that night, maybe 3. One of the new tracks... well... I did a little rough, scratch track demo of the tune and it's here for you guys to listen to and let me know what you think about the subject matter. Gimme a shout, leave a comment... let me know how you feel about what the song says, okay? Man! I wrote this little song to be as fair minded and pointed as I'm capable of being.... so, it'll probably piss off everybody! Gonna be fun to try it out LIVE. Here's my phone number.

I'm sure this song will change a little bit before I do it LIVE at H.I.N.Y. But, let me know what you think of the spirit of the track.

Very, very cool.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
