Okay... It's a go.

(What the hell are you talkin' about, David!?)

The concert. The next concert, man. It's a go.

Saturday Night, Febraury 23 - 7:30
(NY International Hostel Music Hall - Amsterdam Ave @ 103rd ST.)

Okay listen, especially if you're new around here. I've been "That Guitar Man from Central Park" for 16 years now.

But in the winter months, we all get a little crazy for a night when we can just hang in a group of really cool people here in town and just kick around some music and laughs. Well, enough is enough. I've been approached by a great guy who has a wonderful venue in which we can put musical events on their feet, like, maybe once a month. (I'll also be talking to you guys very soon about the realization of a little dream of mine.... a LIVE version on the podcast segment, "What's Behind the Song". This first concert will be called... um... uh...

"It's Just Us"

Okay! So... for this very first concert, here's the thing.

The theater is small compare to some of the other venues I play here in New York - seats 200 really comfortably with some standing room. But, a percentage of the seats must be reserved for the young world travelers that are guests in the New York International Hostel. (It's gonna be great and just like Central Park to be playing for visitors from all around the planet.)

So... you'll be able to walk right up and get tickets that night if there are still seats available. OR, starting this Friday, February 1 you'll be able to reserve seats right here at the website. Spread the word to your friends and anyone you think might wanna sit in on the inaugural concert. (We've got such cool thing planned for the whole year!)

FRIDAY... TICKETS WILL GO ON SALE HERE.

I'll tell you more about this on th podcast today!

Here... give a listen to the new installment of "I Love the Company". (Show #357)

SHOW 357

Musical guest on today's show: A young, audacious and gifted songwriter that I've come to admire... Jodi Shaw (Click on her photo to visit her website, find out more about her, where she's playing, and how to get her music.)

And, there will be a brand new installment of the more politically-minded and soicially-conscious podcast, "Where's the Voice" in the next day or so. We'll be a taking a look at the final "State of the Union" speech by this national disgrace and global embarrassment... George W. Bush.

In the meantime, this week's episode takes a good, no-hold-barred look at John McCain, Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council, and the man I've stared calling...

Blessed Mike of God (Hypocrite extraordinaire)

Mike Huckabee

Anyway, just click on the logo, plug in your headphones, jam in your earbuds or turn on your speakers and listen.(You can always subscribe to the show and get it automatically by hitting that itunes button over there.)

BY THE WAY!!! I switched up the song I was gonna play at the end of this installment. I was originally gonna play "JesusLand". Instead, at the last minute I thought that Todd Snider's song would fit better. (I covered his track on my latest CD.)

Okay, before I get outta here I've gotta give you the opportunity once again to really be a part of all this. It's the permit fund for 2008. Listen, the fact that I'm an independent artist who is broke a lot of the time is my choice, and I wouldn't trade places with another human being on the planet. (People sometimes use the term "struggling artist". But... I'M NOT STRUGGLING. Yeah, I'm financially poor. But I'm not "struggling". Struggling is a state of mind and an attitude.)

Me?

I'm havin' a blast!

So, it's no big deal either way. But, if you'd like the opportunity to help out with the expense of showing up in Central Park every weekend, and even act like a sponsor for the podcast you can just click on this link. So, this not only helps with the special Events Permits, but also with the Sound Device Permits from the NYPD. Just click on this link and donate whatever amount you're comfortable with.

See you really, really soon I hope.

By the way... here's the code you can enter at GoDaddy.com if you wanna get 10% off your order, just for listening to ILTC. (code - ILTC!)

Thanks for everything.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
- Dean
