BIG news coming this week!!!

Oh... hey! I won't be at The Red Lion this coming Monday night. Just not gonna be able to make it. I'll miss sitting in on that songwriter's circle. It's been one of my favorite things to do with a guitar on my shoulder. But, YOU guys oughta go and support those artists anyway!

Let me ask you this...

I know there are people reading this all across the country and in different parts of the world. But... do you live here in New York City?

If the answer is yes, are you kinda jonesin' to get together for another evening of music and laughs. (We had a blast at the "Year End Concert", and we always have a typically amazing time in Central Park.)

Seriously... shoot me an email or call this number (646-224-8162) if you would be up for a series of indoor concerts while the weather sucks. One in February, March and April. Because I've got some really BIG news that I'll be sharing with you all this week.

How about a gig on SATURDAY NIGHT, Febraury 23?

Sound good!?

Let me know. Mr. Sid Bernstein and I are working with some amazing people at a great, undiscovered venue right here on the upper Westside of Manhattan. Working with a great guy names Tim Westwig, we're gonna turn it into a place where we can do a series of concerts, musical workshops, songwriter's-sessions like a LIVE version of the podcast segment "What's Behind the song". All kindsa things.

But right now... mark down Saturday night, February 23 as a date for a kickoff concert. (I will let you know very soon about getting tickets for this event, okay? There are only 200 seats in this theater... considerably less than both Merkin Hall and The JCC. (BUT there will also be standing room and we'll make it all work somehow.)

This whole week, keep checking back here and keep listening to the podcast "I Love the Cmpany" and I'll tell you what's goin' on.

IT'S ALL SO VERY COOL!!! Starting with the gig on February 23rd.

THAT NIGHT - I'm also gonna announce some BIG, BIG new plans for more music this coming summer. (Yeah, yeah.... I've been "That Guitar Man from Central Park" for 17 years. And, I hope it all works out again this season. But, I'm getting kinda weary of doing a dance with the people in the permit office. It may have reached a point of silliness. I have NO idea what they have in mind for us in Central Park this year... let's just leave it at that for now.)

OKAY!

If you're new around here, or you missed the latest podcasts, just click on this link to re-visit Friday's update.

Have fun.

I'll be right back.

Thanks for everything.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
- Dean
