Okay... there goes another lap around the Sun.

HOPES AND WISHES FOR A NEW YEAR.

(Please email the url for this page to a bunch of your friends today, okay? Especially if they've never visited this site. And tell them they can email me or call if they have anything they need to say.)

We're gonna call this next lap the 2,008th time we've made this trip. But... since... what? Who started counting... and exactly when?

At the bottom of the ocean, in the deepest forest, on the silent surface of the moon, in the infinity of space... IT'S BUSINESS AS USUAL. Still, it's kinda fun to look back with sweetness and look forward with hope. I do. I will always know that hope exists as long as... as long as I have it. (And, I do.)

Looking forward to another year in Central Park with all of you.

Looking forward to another string of days, some of which I get to live OUTLOUD, and others in which I get to live with quiet serenity. But hopefully, always, always "paying attention". I wish the same for all of you reading this here in New York City, across the country and in different parts of the world.

For a couple of musical New Year's wishes from me... click on either image of this tiny blue speck in space.

.

By the way, I would be remiss if I went on with the fun stuff and didn't remind us all about something. (It's something that I'm passionate about on a daily basis, because I am paying attention.)

As of the moment I'm writing this update - this year while Americans were watching "Dancing with the Stars" and Britney Spears, while politicians were arguing over $400 haircuts and the authenticity of each others laughter, while some were trying to justify torture and others were busy with the demolition of the wall between church and state... and while George W. Bush was busy corrupting and dismantling the constitution, the soul, and the very fabric of the United States of America...

.

.

.

899 more Americans died in Iraq.

And, countless, countless, countless Iraqi men women and children... children... were killed and maimed.

Nearly 4,000 Americans since this criminal nightmare began.

So, in 2008...

...let's START PAYING FUCKIN' ATTENTION AGAIN!

***

OKAY... life is complex, funny, tragic, beautiful and wonderful all at the same time. So, let's get back to the update.

There are TWO brand new podcasts today!

I've said this before. This website and the podcasts are kind of an extension of what I do during the warm weather here in the greatest city on earth. In the summer I get to share my music with people from all across the country and all around the world just by being "That Guitar Man from Central Park".

This winter and spring I've got plans to do some more "indoor" concerts here in town. This past year I was lucky enough to meet many more really beautiful, creative, open-minded people to enhance this growing circle of friends and artists, and that makes 2008 something to be really excited about.

Y'know, after you listen to the shows today I'll give you a couple of phone numbers you can use... just to day "Hi" and let us know who you are and where you are.

First up... on today's ILTC I'm gonna be playing a couple of clips from the "Year-End Concert" we had here in New York City last week.

And on "Where's the Voice" I'm gonna be inviting you all to call in and voice YOUR opinions and feelings. We'll go out with a few laughs and a couple of good doses of Truth and Reason heading into a presidential election year. It's gonna be wild ride and we'll make sure your voice is heard around here! (Especially if you're an artist writing music that actually SAYS SOMETHING!)

So, let's start out with the original podcast... "I Love the Company" (Show #353)

Just click on the logo, plug in your headphones, jam in your earbuds or turn on your speakers and listen.(You can always subscribe to the show and get it automatically by hitting that itunes button over there.)

SHOW 353

Musical guests on today's show: A woman from Boston who've I played before - Danielle Miragila. (Click on her photo to visit her website, find out more about her, where she's playing, and how to get her music.)

Okay, let's move on to this week's WTV. I'm answering some of your phone calls and playing a couple of really great tracks that actually have something to say about what's going on in this country. (Damn! I'm still thirsty for more music like this. Hell... that's why the show is called "WHERE'S the Voice"!)

Anyway, just click on the logo, plug in your headphones, jam in your earbuds or turn on your speakers and listen.(You can always subscribe to the show and get it automatically by hitting that itunes button over there.)

WTV-025

Musical guest on today's WTV: Jake Holmes (Click on his photo to visit his website, find out more about him, where he's playing, and how to get his music.)

OKAY... HERE THEY ARE!!!

Here are the phone numbers so you can get in on this!

Seriously... don't just think about it. Pick up the phone and say "Hey"! Use these numbers to call either show - to voice an opinion or tell me I'm full of shit on WTV, or just to make comments and requests for ILTC.

Starting now - this year, have fun. Start calling the show if you have any thoughts or feelings or wishes or sentiments for the new lap around the Sun in 08.... or any thoughts you wanna share with people here in New York City, across the country or around the world. Use these phone numbers:

Anywhere in North America:

646-224-8162

Internationally:

+44 845 280 6622

Cool.

I'll be back again before the end of the year. Maybe we'll do a little year-in-review kinda thing.

I'll just leave you right now with a few stills from the gig last week. Click on the thumbnail to view the larger image.

. . . .

See you soon.

Thanks for everything.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
