I'm just so slammin' busy this week. So, the podcasts are the same as yesterday. BUT...

Still, today I wanted to give you guys something new and fun to think about today... a little bit more along the political lines again rather than the musical - - a little more "Where's the Voice"-like rather than "I Love the Company"-ish!

But, welcome to the website. If you're new here and you have some time, browse through the "Archives" a bit to see what this is all about.

First, I wanna tell you all again that the tickets are on sale for our "Year-End Concert". (More about that a little further down the page.)

Okay, before we get to the podcasts I wanted to share this with you. (In fact, you might wanna use the phone numbers to comment on this topic as well!)

Turns out... Pat Robertson is throwing his very Right-Wing-Christian endorsement behind Rudolph Giuliani for president.

HA! When are they finally gonna just throw a net over Mr. Robertson. The man is a batty as they come... as mad as a hatter. It's guys like him who've inspired at least 2 of my satirical songs: JesusLand and a track off my latest CD, "The Religion Song".

.

Here are just some of the outrageous things he's said in recent years. (Maybe he oughta be in Giuliani's corner. Rudy's a whole lot less than cool, too. But, let's hear from Pat Robertson himself. Top 10, counting down:

10) "Over 100 years, I think the gradual erosion of the consensus that's held our country together is probably more serious than a few bearded terrorists who fly into buildings." - Think he might be talkin' about free-thinkers like you and me

9) "Lord, give us righteous judges who will not try to legislate and dominate this society. Take control, Lord! We ask for additional vacancies on the court." - basically praying for a judge to die soon.

8) "Just like what Nazi Germany did to the Jews, so liberal America is now doing to the evangelical Christians. It's no different. It is the same thing. It is happening all over again. It is the Democratic Congress, the liberal-based media and the homosexuals who want to destroy the Christians. Wholesale abuse and discrimination and the worst bigotry directed toward any group in America today. More terrible than anything suffered by any minority in history." - Okay, here he is comparing the satirizing of hypocritical bigmouths like himself by people like me to the holocaust and slavery. Wooooo-hoooooo!

7) "I would warn Orlando that you're right in the way of some serious hurricanes, and I don't think I'd be waving those flags (rainbow flags) in God's face if I were you. This is not a message of hate -- this is a message of redemption. But a condition like this will bring about the destruction of your nation. It'll bring about terrorist bombs; it'll bring earthquakes, tornadoes, and possibly a meteor." - Pat Robertson, talking about "gay days" at Disneyworld

6) "The feminist agenda is not about equal rights for women. It is about a socialist, anti-family political movement that encourages women to leave their husbands, kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism and become lesbians." - I knew you American women were planning SOMETHING!

5) "I know this is painful for the ladies to hear, but if you get married, you have accepted the headship of a man, your husband. Christ is the head of the household and the husband is the head of the wife, and that's the way it is, period." - Ooooh! A 3-way! Kinky!

4) "I'd like to say to the good citizens of Dover: If there is a disaster in your area, don't turn to God, you just rejected him from your city. And don't wonder why he hasn't helped you when problems begin, if they begin. I'm not saying they will, but if they do, just remember, you just voted God out of your city. And if that's the case, don't ask for his help because he might not be there." - Pat Robertson, after the city of Dover, Pennsylvania voted to legitimately boot the current school board, which instituted the religious teaching of creationism in school.

3) "God considers this land to be his. You read the Bible and he says 'This is my land,' and for any prime minister of Israel who decides he is going to carve it up and give it away, God says, 'No, this is mine.' ... He was dividing God's land. And I would say, 'Woe unto any prime minister of Israel who takes a similar course to appease the E.U., the United Nations, or the United States of America.' God says, 'This land belongs to me. You better leave it alone.'" - on why his god smote Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon with a massive stroke! Very kind. Who knew God was soooo into real estate on this puny little planet.

2) "Maybe we need a very small nuke thrown off on Foggy Bottom to shake things up" - Pat Robertson, on nuking the State Department.

And... calling for murder or assassination had to make it to the #1 spot!

1) "You know, I don't know about this doctrine of assassination, but if he thinks we're trying to assassinate him, I think that we really ought to go ahead and do it. It's a whole lot cheaper than starting a war ... We have the ability to take him out, and I think the time has come that we exercise that ability. We don't need another $200 billion war to get rid of one, you know, strong-arm dictator. It's a whole lot easier to have some of the covert operatives do the job and then get it over with." - Calling for the murder of Hugo Chavez

*** And, y'know? Jerry Falwell is remembered for having blames the ACLU (Who's purpose is to defend our Bill of Rights), gays, liberals and feminists for the murders in my town on Sept. 11, 2001. But ROBERTSON started the conversation and totally agreed!

Falwell said, "The ACLU has got to take a lot of blame for this. And I know I'll hear from them for this, but throwing God...successfully with the help of the federal court system...throwing God out of the public square, out of the schools, the abortionists have got to bear some burden for this because God will not be mocked and when we destroy 40 million little innocent babies, we make God mad...I really believe that the pagans and the abortionists and the feminists and the gays and the lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU, People for the American Way, all of them who try to secularize America...I point the thing in their face and say you helped this happen."

Robertson said, "I totally concur... "

Like I said... SOMEBODY THROW A NET OVER THE MAN!

.

I also told you guys I'm in the middle of doing this week-long workshop gig that fell out of the blue from a lovely woman who's been coming to "The Hill" this summer. Turns out, she's a casting director and a project came across her desk she thought I'd be good for. So I auditioned, got the job, and now I'm in the studio working with a bunch of great guys and real pros all this week. I even got to call my buddy Dodger (Roger Bartlett) in on the gig so we're working together. Very cool. I'm so makin' this life up as I go along!

But, a few days ago I also got a series of emails and calls from my friend and colleague, Chris Lavin, asking me to sit in on Cast Party which she hosted Monday night. Turns out she needed me to back up another singer who wanted to do a rendition of Simon & Garfunkel's - Mrs. Robinson. I think all this came about because one of the guys you all know from WFUV, Pete Fornatale, was gonna be there with a book he's just written.

.

You can check out the book here... it's called "Simon & Garfunkel's Bookend's".

Anyway, went down there Monday night after rehearsal... and, had a blast.

AND FINALLY!!! If you're gonna be in or around NYC in the middle of December... GET YOUR TICKETS SOON to "The Year-End Concert". (I sent out an email blast last night. So, call or go online and get your tickets this week, okay? Click on this poster and get them online at The JCC Theater website.

Okay, I'm gonna be in the studio all day today workin' on this fun little show called "Angry Housewives". Like I said, if you're new around here, go back through the "Archives" and see what we've been up to.

This is all very under-the-radar and, if you ask me....

...soooo fucking cool.

I'll see you tomorrow.

Thanks for everything.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
