Hey guys.... if you're reading this in a different part of the country or a different part of the world, the first part of the update isn't for you.
(But, there's a lot of cool stuff for you today. "The Weekend Show" is the latest episode of the podcast, "I Love the Company".)
But, for those of you here in New York City.... I'm sorry. Yeah, I know the weather was lookin' a little shaky today. But, it's really kind of irrelevant.
Now, you guys know how highly I speak of the NYC Parks Department, Central Park and New York City. (Some people have even gone as far as to call me an "ambassador" for the park!) The Central Park Administration does a great, great job. But this week, I couldn't get our Special Events Permit for sharing music at "The Hill" that I applied for. (This is the first summer since 2000 when Administrator Doug Blonsky (By the way, he's a good guy.) and I worked things out that the Permit Office is denying permits because of events that might be happening out in The Ladies Pavilion behind us on Hernshead.

Don't get all bent out of shape. I don't. I just roll with this kinda thing. But, we weren't issued the permit today and that's that.
Why?
(I honestly don't know. Y'hafta ask them.)
But, no big deal. Stay cool. We'll be back next weekend, weather-permitting. In the meantime, check out "The Weekend Show".... for EVERYBODY! (Playing a bunch of your phone calls and comments... playing a couple of cool tracks... havin' a good time lovin' the company.) It's show #290. Click on this logo, plug in your headphones or turn on your speakers and listen.

(You can always subscribe to the show and get it
automatically by hitting that itunes button over there.)
Musical guests on today's show: My pal and fine songwriterDavid Abbinanti. (Click on his photo to visit his website, find out more about him, where he's playing, and how to get his music.)

There are also 2 videos from the park here today. Now, last weekend we had a typically wonderful day in Central Park and I asked a bunch of you to say "Hey" to friends of yours who are far away from New York City. So, you did and I put some of you in this video!. (In fact there have been new videos from Central Park up here all week. Go back in the "Archives" and check 'em out.)
But, right now click on this image and watch "Hellos & Kudos"!

And, then check a few guys sayin' "Hey" to a good friend who's in the hospital right now and can't make it to "The Hill".

I'm gonna be back this week with an all-new edition of "Where's the Voice". But for right now, you can also check out the most recent installment of the more politically-minded and socially-spirited show. I've got a couple of great tracks from independent artists out of Philadelphia and California. And, I'm playing a brand new verse in the song "Tom Cruise Scares Me" LIVE - dedicated to the Democrats in Congress... that bunch of disgraceful Caspar Milquetoasts!
Go ahead. Click on this logo.
