First of all... THANKS to every single person who showed up in Central Park yesterday. What a day! Just another, typical, usual KICK-ASS great day!
And... of course, "The Weekend Show" is still here on "I Love the Company". (It's a podcast) It's a little bit further down the page today.
Now... here's the thing I told everyone in the park!
The NEW CD (I Love the Company) is arriving this week, and I had planned on doing something special in the park next week to let you guys know all about it! There are people coming in from out-of-town. All kindsa great stuff. But, Claudia Pepe over at The Parks Department told me that they have outdoor weddings booked back-to-back-to-back in the Ladies Pavilion right near where I play. So, I can't get our Special Events Permit for next weekend. (Not her fault. She was really sympathetic about the whole thing and will try to make sure we can hang the rest of the summer. As usual, it's all cool.)
BUT!!!
I decided to go ahead and book a theater for an INDOOR concert to celebrate the release of the album.
(What d'you think? Cool? Will you show up?)
There is a great, new 200 seat theater right on the corner of West 76th Street and Amsterdam Ave, inside the JCC Center. I figure if we get enough people on a Sunday afternoon to show up and hang, it'll only be $10 to get in and you'll be able to be among the first to get the new CD!!!
(Very iphone-ish isnt it?)
SO...
Sunday afternoon.... July 8th... 3:00 in the afternoon!!! One week from today!
The Concert Release Party/Concert for "I Love the Company"
(ALL seats will be only $10 and we're gonna have a blast! Keep checking back this week to find out how you can get your tickets in advance so you won't be left out. There are only 200 seats, remember!)
Okay... now listen to "The Weekend Show" on "I Love the Company". Just click on this logo, plug in your headphones or turn on your speakers and listen.

This week's show is all about a blowhard on national television, Mr. Bill O'Reilly. (And these photographs are especially for him. Listen to the show to find out what I'm talkin' about.)

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
