This is James. David asked me to do a quick update today (Tuesday).
I can't really tell you where David is. I mean, I know where he is, but I didn't get permission from him to tell you... but it is good news!
While we are waiting for him to return (on Friday) I can share a few things with you.
The new CD, I LOVE THE COMPANY, is being mastered right now at DiscMakers. (Don't know what mastering is? Click here and get an education.)
Here is some trivia for you. David and I had a miscommunication, worthy of a Gilligan's Island episode, when we were making CRAZY ON THE SAME DAY. This lead to CRAZY never being mastered. ("I thought you mastered it." "I thought YOU mastered it...") Anyway, one day, we will master CRAZY and re-release it. Then all of you out there that already have one will have a collector's item that you can sell for thousands on eBay...
Anyway, the point of the story is that mastering is important to the quality of the CD and it is worth the wait. The master should be done on Thursday or Friday and then the CD manufacturing takes two weeks or so. I am hoping to get the new CDs the first week of July. But you can pre-order them right now! Click on the cover on the upper left hand side of the website. You will be the first on the block to get it when they arrive.
Since David is out of town, there will not be any I Love The Company podcasts. I will see if Lisa and I can do an Awesome Podcast, but no promises! And yes, I realize that there is no substitute for real David.
About the I Love the Company podcast vs. I Love the Company CD... yes, that was my idea. Both the podcast and the CD were named by me. I thought for a second it was good idea, now I am not sure that there won't be confusion. No, you don't have to pay for the podcast. Yes, you have to pay for the CD! David has rent to pay!
Anyway, I will pop back in later this week to let you know how everything is going and see if I can tell you where David is.
Till then, drop me or Lisa a message @ 646-224-8162 or +44 845 280 6622. You can also reach us at james@thatguitarman.com or lisa@thatguitarman.com.
What a beautiful day here in NYC. I am heading out to enjoy it!
