It's the "Weekend Show" on "I Love the Company". (Episode #236)

Look, I know there are people reading this all over the country and in different parts of the world. But, here in New York City not only has winter made a weak comeback this weekend, but... um... uh... I'm in camp.

Podcast Camp.

Podcamp NYC

(Whoa! What the hell happened to me !?!)

Seriously... went to a little pre-party last night for this kind of a meet-up-kinda-thang goin' on here in New York City among podcasters and people associated with podcasting. So, I'm gonna head over there with James Marino and The Lovely Lisa to see what it's all about. I'm sure there are gonna be some people there from Podshow.com. Maybe I'll be able to make better sense out of where this is all going? Already ran into some people I'm glad I got to hang with a little last night.... Joe Carpenter from Podshow and my old buddy, Brent Burnett. Brent is a guy who I have a feeling isgonna make a big, big noise in entertainment one day soon.

A couple of things I do know... I will be staring in Central Park in about a month.

We start again on May 5th

That's very cool.

AND... the "Weekend Show"is up right now. on ILTC. Just click on this logo to listen right now, or download it to listen whenever you feel like it.

Two beautiful and talented musical guests this weekend: Beth Thornley and Cassie Kubinski. (Click on their photo to visit their websites, find out more about their music, where they're playing, and how to get their music.)

.

This is kinda wild. I discovered this Podcamp is being organized by guy I worked with in the past... in one of my lifetimes.

John Havens

As I recall John, he is a great guy who can sing and play a pretty kickin' blues harp... but, not at the same time. (That's either true, or it's a memory from when I used to drink and thought everybody played a kickin' blues harp!)

Oh yeah... by the way. I'm writing a new song about one of the most pathetic blowhards in America today. (Still waiting to hear from the people over at Countdown with Keith Olbermann to see if they can help me out with a cool idea I had for this track. It's a raw work-in-progress that, hopefully, Dodger and I will take a serious run at next week. In the meantime...

...click on this photo for a little taste of it.

Bill O'Reilly. "The Big Giant Head".

As I was mentioning on the show this weekend... this might just be the summer of video. Maybe this will be the year we really expand "I Love the Video" to include a lot more things from around this town and out in Central Park all summer, so we can share them with the rest of the country and all of you in different parts of the world who are reading this right now. My gig is really is a very cool thing that happens out there every weekend. And all around this town, cool shit goes down... all the time.

For instance... these are the photos I was talking about on "I Love the Company" today.

And here is a link to the artists website. Sergio Furnari

To get the story about the missing statue, you gotta listen to today's show. Then, if you're new around here, go back through the "Archives" and check out some other shows. All 236 are still here for you to download.

Here are the phone numbers for you guys to call the show and leave a message for me, or a comment, or make a request, or express an opinion... or to give a shout to me or any of the artists you hear on the podcast.

I'm also actually asking any of you to introduce one of the episodes of ILTC. All you hafta do is leave a brief message, saying who you are and where you live and then introduce the show any way you want. You can also call in with any comments, or opinions, or requests you have.... anything at all that you wanna say about the show "I Love the Company" or anything at all.

See you guys back here next time.

D'oh!!! And, oh yeah...

I wanna let you all know that the Central Park Permit Fund for '07 is continuing. (Could really use everybody's help with that effort. You can click on any of these links or the PayPal button over there on the right, under The Weather section.) It also helps keep the podcast going strong every weekday. Damn! It's turned into a full time job, keepin' it goin'!

See you back here every day next week. Bring a few friends around. "I Love the Company"!

Thanks a lot.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
