Yeah, I guess you could say I've become a Central Park thang.

Well, I had a very unusual gig yesterday. But, it turned out to be soooooo cool.

I told you yesterday that there's this guy from "The Hill" in Central Park named Tom... the guy who you've seen sing and do a Louis Armstrong impersonation with me once in a while over the years.

Well, he's been at me for a long time now to cross the river to Jersey City so he could throw a private house concert for his friends, that would also be kind of a fund-raiser for the Central Park Permit Fund '07. (Really cool mix of people.) And so, that's what I finally did yesterday afternoon. We had a blast. I got to just, y'know, make it up as I go along like I always do and tell these people the story of the whole "That Guitar Man" thing I'm so lucky to be in the middle of every summer. Needless to say... had a great, great time, a lot of laughs, and made a bunch of new friends.

(Hope they're all gonna be listening to "I Love the Company" as often as they can... like you guys.

By the way... got an all new episode up today. (Show #213)

Just turn on your speakers, or plug in your headphones and click on this logo.

Special musical guests on today's show: Laura Clapp, George Wurzbach, and Mr. Tom Waits. (Click on their photo to visit their website, find out more about their music, where they're playing, and how to get their music.)

. .

And listen... I know a lot of you are reading this in different parts of the country and the world... but, here in NYC, we had a taste of a little Spring-like weather on Saturday. Felt like we'll be heading out to the park to begin another season on "The Hill" sooner than you'd think. (It really cranks up again on May 5th. that's the date of my first permit. Gotta keep it legal, now.) If you wanna help out with the cost of the permits, the granola bars, batteries and whatnot, and to help keep "I Love the Company" coming to you every weekday, you can still make a donation by clicking on this link. (Thanks to everyone who's already thrown a few dollars. I'll be sending more personal emails soon.)

Okay, NOW...

Click on this logo to listen to the weekend podcast on ILTC. (Show #212)

Special musical guest on that show: Karlus Trapp. (Click on his photo to visit his website, find out more about his, where he's playing, and how to get his music.)

.

On this weekend show I'm playing a few more of your phone calls, and a couple of tracks that have summer on my mind.

THEN...

Click on this photo to hear this week's "Weekly Wake-Up Call" which really goes to town about George W. Bush, religion and hypocrisy. (Knock yourself out!)

.

THEN... if you feel like it click on this photo to listen to this week's conversation with music legend Sid Bernstein. (The man who brought The Beatles to America.

The, call the ILTC phone numbers so you can leave a comment or state an opinion, or make a request, or suggest a topic you'd like addressed on the next "Weekly Wake-Up Call", or just... just to say "Hi".

Chances are I will play your message, opinion or comment right on the show for the whole world. It's fun!

Okay, I'm heading out to Long Island today to say "Hey" to my Pop before he heads back to Florida. (He's a good guy and I'm proud to call him a friend as well as my father.) Then I'll be back tomorrow with another all-new episode of ILTC.

See you then. And...

Thanks Again!

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
