This is the day for the "Weekly Wake-Up Call" on "I Love the Company".

Yeah, wake up! But, once you're paying attention... don't hate. No matter what is said tonight in a speech by a man who is, by far, the most disgraceful president in my lifetime, certainly... be cool.

Yeah, let me get it right out there. If you're new around here you might as well know. I'm a man who considers George W. Bush to be a criminal, an unAmerican disgrace, an empty-headed front for dangerous machine of men and women who haven't the slightest, nodding acquaintance with the principles this nation was founded upon.

But, I don't hate the asshole.

(Oh, did I mention.. just as a guy? Just as a man, all things being equal, no matter what he does for a living... I think he's also a genuine asshole?)

Yeah, over the years I've received emails and phone comments about some of the lyrics I've written and statements I've written here on the website, accusing me of simply hating George W. Bush.

That's just wrong. Typically simplistic. Completely untrue. I can say that with confidence. And, I've got a song on today's "I Love the Company" that goes right at it.

Is he a disgrace? Sure.

Hey, y'know what? Did I get your juices flowing? Are you ready to have something to say?

Listen to the show today and then call in with your comments.

Before I get outta here, I wanna share a couple of original cartoons I did a while back. (Yeah, once in a while I still pick up a pencil and put my thoughts down this way.) Call in and let me know what you think of these as well.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
