First holiday songs of the year on "I Love the Company" today.
Kind of a cool show.
Listen... this is becoming a time in my life like no other. It feels like I'm changing on a very profound level deep inside on a daily basis.... kind of a hurricane. All Good. Always. Eyes open. Heart open. Paying attention.... always. Through heartache and challenge come clarity, (And, sometimes a song.) ...when I'm paying attention.
I can tell you this. I get up and write stuff every morning these days. And, this morning the message just kept coming at me.... "Genuine. Real... never 'what works'. Just be real. Genuine. True to your heart."
We are going to have a genuinely wonderful time at Merkin Hall next week.
Part of the really good news for me today is that I have a really busy one. I've got a rehearsal scheduled with Dodger and Ryan. We're gonna run all the stuff we might pull off at Merkin Concert Hall in a week from tomorrow. Dodger (Roger Bartlett) just got back to town after a year in Vegas and man... it's gonna feel great to make music with him again.
I might update this page again in just a little while.
In the meantime, I think you all oughta get your tickets to the "Year-End Concert" if you haven't gotten them yet.
First... here's show #164.
Just turn on your speakers and click on this logo to hear the show.

Or, download it to listen to whenever you want.
My musical guests on today's show are: Geoff Smith and George Wurzbach. (As always, click on the photos to visit their websites, find out about them, where they're playing or how to get more of their music.)
.
Were you at the "YEAR-END CONCERT" last year!?

If you were, or if you've been to any of these gigs, you know... what an amazing time we have in that concert hall every year. It's kind of a celebration of what we do all summer in Central Park all summer. Kind of a way to kick 2006 in the ass as it heads out the door.

Well, it's right on us again!!! A week from this Wednesday.
Yeah, yeah... again. Just like yesterday. This is a kind of a commercial.
It's a time we all get together at Merkin Concert Hall for one night at the end of the year.
Man! I need you guys this year! Seriously... you gotta pick me up, okay? I just gotta get my guitar on my shoulder and hang with all of you.
Well, it's happenin' in a about 10 days from now here in New York City. (On West 67th Street, near Linclon Center.) We have a blast every year! We laugh as much as we sing. But, you guys told me you wanted it a little bit earlier this year, and that your weekends are slammin' busy around now, so we made it on Wednesday night, December 6th.
But, here's a cool thing for this year! ARE YOU JUST STARTING TO RIP INTO YOUR CHRISTMAS SHOPPING? Got a bunch of people and you don't know exactly what to get 'em?
I think maybe this could be a special, one-of-a-kind, uniquely New York gift for them. In the lobby before the gig my CDs are gonna be available. "People on the Hill", "In Person", "It's Just Us", "Crazy on the Same Day", Common Ground".
BUT!!!
I made a special CD with some of the hits from this past year... a few of the songs you guys all told me you really liked. And, at the concert, it's only $10... no tax, no nothin'. Or... you can get it FREE with any of the other CDs you buy!)

"Tom Cruise Scares Me"
"The Religion Song"
"Oh, Exxon"
"A different Cowboy's Lament"
"Next Time Around" (The New Year Song)
Think about the people in your life that might get a real kick out of this, then come to the concert and get it!
Cool?

Gotta make some music.
See you in a week.
Thanks for everything.
