Welcome to the Friday update and the weekend show on "I Love the Company".

Got a great, great show for you today on "I Love the Company"... a lot of great music and some fun things. I also have a few announcements on the website today, and a new feature.

Y'see, the New York Yankees are about to wrap up the American League East. The number of wins and losses that it takes to eliminate the Boston Red Sox and clinch the division is called the "Magic Number". (Right now, depending on when you are reading this, their magic number is around 6.)

But, the new feature is called George W. Bush's "TRAGIC NUMBER". (It's further down the page.)

But first, an announcement. Weather-permitting, I'll be in Central Park tomorrow as usual. (If you're wondering exactly where I play, here's a new map).

Gonna have a lot of fun out there tomorrow. I even have something kinda special planned... and, a couple of wonderful guest artists. You're gonna love 'em.

Now... here's the weeknd show on ILTC. Click on this logo to hear it. (Then call or email a few friends and ask them to do the same.)

Or, download it to listen whenever and wherever you want.

Today's musical guests are: Cassandra Kubinski, Laura Cheadle and Roger Bartlett. (As always, click on their photos to visit their websites, find out about them, where they're playing and how to get more of their music.)

. .

And, I really want you all to be a part of the show every day. Please, if you have anything to say, if you have anything to say about this show, if you have any requests for music throughout the week, or even if you just wanna say "Hi".... call this number:

Okay, another ANNOUNCEMENT!!!

THE TICKETS HAVE GONE ON SALE FOR THE ANNUAL DECEMBER SHOW AT MERKIN CONCERT HALL!!!

Even though the show sold out last year, a lot of people told me that they couldn't attend because it was so damned close to the holidays. So, this year the show is earlier... on Wednesday, December 6th. (I'll be making a BIG announcement with email and other media soon. So, if you wanna be among the first to get the best seats, go ahead and follow this link. You can get tickets today!)

.

Okay... um... oh yeah... so, head to the park on Saturday. And then... like I said in yesterday's update, on Sunday I'm gonna be participating in a solemn demonstration to focus on the human cost of this immoral and unAmerican war that is raging in Iraq. It's an event called "Number the Dead". I'll tell you all about it on "I Love the Company" today. But, you can also click on this logo to visit their website and find out how you can stand up and take your place in line as well.

Sensible people, honest people, good people. LET'S START TAKIN' IT TO THE STREETS!

Join me in the park on Saturday, and then on Fifth Avenue on Sunday, okay? This kinda relates to the new feature here at the website.

GEORGE W. BUSH'S TRAGIC NUMBER

Here at The Guitar Man website, I'm going to post George W. Bush's "Tragic Number". That's the number of American fatalities in this post-9/11, unrelated, wholly unAmerican and immoral war in Iraq until George W. Bush, and those who voted for him or support this war are directly responsible for the equal number of people killed by Osama Bin Laden in the World Trade Center. At the time I posted this, the number stands at 67. (Of course, more Americans and Iraqis have probably died while you're reading this.)

Harsh?

You betcha!

Live with it.

Okay, before I get outta here I'm gonna ask you all to check out the MySpace page. And, when you do I'd like you to sign up as a friend. I'm very new on the damned thing. But, I'm really exploring the whole MySpace thing to see if it's gonna be fun and worth the effort.

Let me know what you think, okay?

Here's the link:

If you've been comin' around for a while, thanks for always showing up... here and in the park. And if you're brand new here, take a look around. There's a lot of cool stuff on this site. And, you can go back and listen through a whole bunch of the previous Podcasts. Actually... you can go back and listen to all of them if you have the time.

You can also email me about anything you want by clicking on that "Contact" button over there. I can't answer all the email I get these days. But I promise I read every single one.

Thanks again.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
