Glad you showed up at the website today.

I'm thinkin' the weather is gonna be perfect this weekend for another afternoon of singin' songs and hangin' out together... talkin' about the things that matter and sharing a few laughs.

I was at "Chick Singer Night" at The Bitter End Last night and I'm gonna talk a lot about the gig tomorrow on Thursday's show.

But, today is WEDNESDAY! And, this is a very special update and a very cool podcast! Tell your friends!

It's time for another "Wednesday Wake-Up Call" on "I Love the Company".

Click on this logo right now to listen to today's show.

It's all about... RELIGION!

Got religion?

You got religion?

Christians, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus... uh... Tom Cruise?

Cool.

Keep it to yourself... and outta the US government! (Actually... keep it out my face, too!)

YOU WANNA HAVE SOME FUN!!! Click on Bush's face to check out a cool video from a while back. It was one of the very first times I ever performed "Get Out Our House" anywhere! This was at the SGA Songwriter's Circle down in the Village at The Red Lion. (That's the incomparable Sam Leopold jammin' on guitar and George Wurzbach jumpin' in on keyboards. Makin' it up as we go along. And, you guys singin'! What a blast!)

Guys, give a good listen to today's podcast and then call this number if you have anything to say.

646-224-8162

Today's musical guest is: Bright Eyes (Great song on the show. "When the President Talks to God". Click on this photo to visit his Podsafe website.)

But, todays very, very special guest is Former Republican Senator, former UN Ambassador, and ordained Episcopal priest.... John Danforth.

This is a special show today. So, after you listen to it, turn at least one other person onto it, okay?

Seriously. Let at least one other person in on this show today so that you might be able to discuss what the hell's goin' on.

Okay, now... before I go any further. Y'know, I love the company here on the internet.... but, I really love the company at Merkin Hall every December! Right now, you might wanna make sure you get the best seats available for the annual, traditional, we-always-have-a-blast, YEAR-END CONCERT at Merkin Concert Hall on December 6th. (Tickets went on sale last week!)

Even though the show sold out last year, a lot of people told me that they couldn't attend because it was so damned close to the holidays. So, this year the show is earlier... on Wednesday, December 6th. (I'll be sending out that email about it this week. So, if you wanna be among the first to get the best seats, go ahead and follow this link. You can get tickets every day this week!)

If it's easier, you can just call the box office number right now:

212-501-3330

After you listen to today's show, you can download the song that's kinda what the show is about... the song about one of the greatest engines of human conflict, misery and division ever devised, click on this photo! It's "The Religion Song" and it's brand new.

.

Before I go... it's time to update:

GEORGE W. BUSH'S TRAGIC NUMBER

This just isn't funny. It's outrageously tragic. 64 more Americans have lost their lives in Iraq so far this month. But, that's only one horrible number.

Here at The Guitar Man website, I'm posting George W. Bush's "Tragic Number". That's the number of American fatalities in wholly unAmerican and immoral Iraq War until George W. Bush is directly responsible for the equal number of people killed by Osama Bin Laden in the World Trade Center.

If YOU voted for him and continue to support his war, I hope you will wake up soon. At the time I posted this, the number stands at 41. (Of course, more Americans and Iraqis have probably died while you're reading this.)

Harsh?

You betcha!

Live with it. Or, wake up! It's not too late. (Well, it's too late for those who are dead or dying. But, it's not too late for you. As John Lennon said, "I hope someday you will join us.")

By the way, you don't only hafta call if you wanna make a comment. you can also call if you wanna be a part of this marvelous mess in any way... have anything to say about the things you read here or hear on ILTC, or have any musical requests.... or, just wanna say "Hey".

If you've been comin' around for a while, thanks for always showing up... here and in the park. And if you're brand new here, take a look around. There's a lot of cool stuff on this site. And, you can go back and listen through a whole bunch of the previous Podcasts. Actually... you can go back and listen to all of them if you have the time.

You can also email me about anything you want by clicking on that "Contact" button over there. I can't answer all the email I get these days. But I promise I read every single one.

Thanks again.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
