Welcome to the website and THANKS for a great day this past Sunday in Central Park!
Okay... it's all about simplicity on "The Wednesday Wake Up Call" today!
Simplicity!!
Right and wrong. Good and bad. Hmmmmm.
Check your intellect at the door and open up your heart to the things you knew when you were born.
Actually, this show was inspired by one of the dozens and dozens of emails I received this past weekend. But, this one is from someone who is apparently pretty impressed with his own intellect, and yet still supports the Bush administraion... something that cracks me up because I find that to be completely incongruous! This email was from someone who seemed like a nice enough guy, but who took exception to my posting of Keith Olbermann's comments about Donald Rumsfeld here in this website a few days ago. Actually, he also had a kind of fascinating critique of my song "Tom Cruise Scares Me". (He might wanna listen in and hear what I have to say about Dick Cheney on today's show! Oh brother!)
After you listen to this show, I definitely wanna hear from all of you, too!!!
Here's the number. Write it down and call if you have anything to say!

Okay, now... click on this logo to take part in today's installment of "I Love the Company".
Or, download it to listen whenever and wherever you want.
Today's musical guests are: Jay Mankita, Eric Schwartz and George Wurzbach. (Hmmmm. Boys night! It's cool we'll get the ladies back at the party tomorrow for sure!)
(Click on their photos to visit their websites, find out about them, where they're playing and how to get more of their music.)
. .
Now, be sure to call that number. Tomorrow's"I LOVE THE COMPANY" are gonna be largely about the phone messages you guys are sending in!!!
And yeah, yeah, yeah... you might as well start accusing me of ranting right now.
Yes. I am. Feelin' good, though.
Y'know... the guy who sent the email, the one that pumped me up to do this show today? Like I said, probably a nice person. I just found his email pretty outrageous on so many levels and I don't keep this stuff inside. Not when I have a new show to do every day... and one of them is called a "Wake-Up Call"!
I debutted it in the park this past weekend and I think it went over pretty well. I mean, judging by the amount of people who approached me after the gig was over and the things they had to say, I think the song really landed. (Of course, those are the same people I'm gonna be sharing a bunkhouse with when I get to Hell. But, that's cool. Just hope they let me bring my guitar.)
As one of the results of that song, the webmaster of this site, James Marino, sent me a YouTube video from The Daily Show, back when Steve Correll and Stephen Colbert used to do a mock-Crossfire show called "Even Stevphen".
This is hysterical and right on point. Click on the link to watch the video.
(And, I'll save these guys, James, and all of you a place in the bunkhouse.)
BTW... for "I Love the Company", Ive been finding a lot of wonderful artists on The Podsafe Network, and more recently I've been cennectiuoin with some fine singersongwriters on MySpace. (Laura Cheadle was discovered on MySpace.)
I mean, have you all gone to check out the MySpace page. And, if you have... have you signed up as friends and contacts? I'm very new on the damned thing and sure I'm probably doing a lot of it wrong. But, I'm really exploring the whole MySpace thing to see if it's gonna be fun and worth the effort.
Let me know, okay?

Very soon I'm gonna have an announcement about my annual "Year-End Concert" at Merkin Concert Hall. That concert usually sells out, so I'll let you know as soon as the tickets go on sale.
If you've been comin' around for a while, thanks for always showing up... here and in the park. And if you're brand new here, take a look around. There's a lot of cool stuff on this site. And, you can go back and listen through a whole bunch of the previous Podcasts. Actually... you can go back and listen to all of them if you have the time.
You can also email me about anything you want by clicking on that "Contact" button over there. I can't answer all the email I get these days. But I promise I read every single one.
Thanks again.

David is available for private parties and events. Please call (646) 504-7275 for fees and availability.
As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
