It's "The Wednesday Wake-Up Call"! The ONE day of the week where we get all "political" around here.

Good update today here at the website with a FREE download of a new work-in-progress near the bottom of this page, (The Religion Song) and a really cool podcast...

WITH A VERY SPECIAL "CALL-IN" GUEST!

A legend in the music business is my very special guest today. He is one of the sweetest men ever born... a genuinely good, intelligent and kind human being whose work and life have impacted music, music history and the world in so many significant ways.

His name is Mr. Sid Bernstein.

He wanted to be part of a really cool installment of "I Love the Company". I had a lot of fun putting this one together.

Click on this logo to hear it. (Then call or email a few friends and ask them to do the same.)

Or, download it to listen whenever and wherever you want.

If you wanna be a part of the show, just call and leave a voice message for ILTC on this number:

646-224-8162

Thanks for showin' up here today. I'm a lucky, lucky man and I know it.

Okay...

Now, about Sid Bernstein.

He is the man who, among so many other things, is responsible for bringing The Beatles to America and for the famous and historic Concert at Shea.

He was very close to John Lennon, and was heading over to Paul McCartney's office here in New York just yesterday when we spoke on the phone.

He asked to be on the show today to help me answer an email I received recently. We were casually talking about this kinda thing yesterday, and Sid thought he'd like to share a few thoughts with all of you.

Y'see, as you all know I have started a feature here called the "George W. Bush Tragic Number". (See yesterday's update.) That's the number of American fatalities in this wholly unAmerican and immoral Iraq War until George W. Bush is directly responsible for the equal number of people killed by Osama Bin Laden in the World Trade Center.

As part of that, I gently but firmly urged people who still support this admistration and it's war to wake up by saying: "...it's too late for those who are dead or dying. But, it's not too late for you. As John Lennon said, "I hope someday you will join us."

For quoting a line from a song that I love by a songwriter I admire, I received the most outrageously ignorant email I have ever received. (And, Ha! I've gotten some lulus!) This was so outrageous, I hadda share it with the people whose company I actually love... you guys. Here's the malicious missive:

Comment:

John Lennon loved NYC so much that I am absolutley
sure he'd support Bush's action to root out those who
did what they did to the city and who plan to do
more.. so do me a favor and leave John's name from
your advertisements. I have to wonder how much the
terrorists are paying you for the support you give
them with comments like those on your site. Sure many
Americans have died but it's a fraction of 1% that
were killed in ww2 for a less important cause. Wake up
kid!!!

.

Ha! You would think I might dress better if anyone was paying me!

Please listen to the show today to hear Sid Bernstein's response to this message, as well as my own. And feel free to chime in as well. I was thinking we'd do a show about this kind of crap next week. But, probably not. Probably just gonna ignore it from now on.) Still... it's kinda fun on today's show!

Okay! Moving on! Thanks to every single person who headed to Central Park to hang with me! I hope I see all of you at Merkin Concert Hall on December 6th. (Tickets went on sale last week!)

Even though the show sold out last year, a lot of people told me that they couldn't attend because it was so damned close to the holidays. So, this year the show is earlier... on Wednesday, December 6th. (I'll be sending out an email about it at the end of the week. So, if you wanna be among the first to get the best seats, go ahead and follow this link. You can get tickets right now and every day this week!)

Um... or if it's easier, you can just call the box office number right now:

212-501-3330

Cool?

Okay... some pictures from this past weekend! (I'll have more tomorrow.... promise!)

It was "Hot Dog Day" . (If you're in these photos, tell a few friends about the website, okay? This is all getting so cool!)

. . .

Okay, before I get outta here I'm gonna ask you all to check out the MySpace page. And, when you do I'd like you to sign up as a friend. I'm very new on the damned thing. But, I'm really exploring the whole MySpace thing to see if it's gonna be fun and worth the effort.

Let me know what you think, okay?

Here's the link:

Oh and hey!

If you wanna hear the roughs of my newest song... the song about one of the greatest engines of human conflict ever devised, click on this photo! It's "The Religion Song" and it's brand new.

If you've been comin' around for a while, thanks for always showing up... here and in the park. And if you're brand new here, take a look around. There's a lot of cool stuff on this site. And, you can go back and listen through a whole bunch of the previous Podcasts. Actually... you can go back and listen to all of them if you have the time.

You can also email me about anything you want by clicking on that "Contact" button over there. I can't answer all the email I get these days. But I promise I read every single one.

Thanks again.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
