Today's Podcast (I Love the Company) is just a little bit different today. As all of you know, it's usually about 90% other people's music. Today I switched it up a little, just for today.

Yeah... look at the date.

It's another day. We human beings are calling this one "September 11th".

But, at the bottom of the ocean and in the middle of the deepest rainforest... it's business as usual.

The earth has made 5 trips around the sun since September 11th. You might think we are right back in the same place we were on this date in 2001.

But y'know what? The Sun is also moving around the galaxy at an incomprehensible speed! And, the galaxy itself is hurtling through the blackness of space toward... somewhere else. So, from the time you began reading this page, you are at the very least physically millions of miles from where you just were. (That's not theory, and that's not metaphorical.)

That's reality. It's a fact.

It's a journey... an amazing and mysterious journey we're all on together. Every single second, we are incredible distances from where we just were. So... we are not where we were 5 years ago. Not even close. And, spiritually, emotionally and intellectually we are light years away from where we were. (Unless you are one of those people who choose to live in fear and actually listen to the lies being told by these unscrupulous people in Washington DC.)

Yes. George W. Bush... Dick Cheney... liars. Proven now.

Nope. Around here, we are in a different place. Around here, we continue to grow. And, around here I like to say...

And, I really want you to be a part of the show this week.

And, if you're new around here, welcome.

If you need a little change of pace, a little smile... "TOM CRUISE SCARES ME" is over there on the right. Give it a listen. If you need a little something else to listen to, y'know, to pick you up a little today... here are a couple of other songs you might wanna check out for FREE today.

The Religion Song

I've Got You Babe (Live)

Today on "I Love the Company", it's a little bit different than other shows. Usually, I'm playing some great, great music from friends and colleagues of mine, from around The Podsafe Network and from MySpace.com. But today, I just played a few of my own tracks, mostly from the "Crazy on the Same Day" CD... becasue that was the album that was born out of my feelings in the time following that terrible day in September. If you're a New Yorker, call that phone number and chime in. If you're reading this in another part of the country or another part of the world, stay close by listeing to the podcast everyday, and by calling that number to let me know you're out there.

Oh man! But, this past Saturday in Central Park... thank you sooooo much. If you were there, call in and let me know that you had a good time hangin' out, too.... especially later in the day, during the sweet part of the afternoon. I just did NOT wanna stop playing. My good friend and colleague Karlus Trapp made it out to the park to be my special musical guest!!! He played some of my favorite songs he's written... "Miami", "Get Up Get Out", "Crank the Volume" and one of his newest songs, "Monkey in My Stomach".

The man just has it goin' on. I'm a fan.

Go to his website or CDBaby and get his music, okay?

What else... oh yeah. For "I Love the Company", I've been finding a lot of wonderful artists on The Podsafe Network, and more recently I've been connecting with some fine singer/songwriters on MySpace. (Danielle Miraglia was discovered on MySpace and The Alice Project from the Podsafe Network.)

I mean, have you all gone to check out the MySpace page. And, if you have... have you signed up as friends and contacts? I'm very new on the damned thing. But, I'm really exploring the whole MySpace thing to see if it's gonna be fun and worth the effort.

Let me know, okay?

Here's the link:

Now, keep checking back EVERY DAY THIS COMING WEEK. I'm gonna have some great music on each "I Love the Company". And, of course, Wednesday is the time for another "Wake Up Call". And, I'm gonna have an announcement about my annual "Year-End Concert" at Merkin Concert Hall. That concert usually sells out, so I'll let you know as soon as the tickets go on sale.

If you've been comin' around for a while, thanks for always showing up... here and in the park. And if you're brand new here, take a look around. There's a lot of cool stuff on this site. And, you can go back and listen through a whole bunch of the previous Podcasts. Actually... you can go back and listen to all of them if you have the time.

You can also email me about anything you want by clicking on that "Contact" button over there. I can't answer all the email I get these days. But I promise I read every single one.

Thanks again.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
