Hmmm... spotty weather.

What d'you think? Rainout today? Maybe...

Check back in just a little while. I think we might get out there today. If not, we'll head out to the park tomorrow.

WELL... SETTLE IN FOR A BIG-ASS UPDATE TODAY!!!

Y'know, the weekend show is here on "I Love the Company". You can just click on this logo to give it a listen right now if you want. On this show... this is kinda cool... I'm lettin' you hear a very first run at a brand new song I'm workin' on. Never heard before. (Actually, not even close to bein' finished. But, I figured, "What the hell! Let me see what you think of the idea!")

Anyway... click on this logo.

Or, download it to listen whenever and wherever you want.

This weekend's musical guests are: Goat, Laura Clapp and Colleen Jameson. (A little further down the page, you can click on each of their photos to visit their websites, find out about them and where to get their music.)

BUT FOR TODAY! Y'know, this update is NOT meant to make you feel bad. I just like to, y'know... pay attention. I mean, I have an awful lotta fun and I consider myself one of the luckiest men on the face of the earth. I love my life, my friends, my family.... my work. Man! I love music, making music, the people who make music, and the people who love music. (That just about covers it, I guess.) And, I love to laugh.

But I'm also a fan of the lyric that Bob Dylan wrote in the classic "Blowin' in the Wind".

How many times can a man turn his head
And pretend that he just doesn't see

So, just for today I've got a question.

Are you completely sick of seeing this man's photo?

Yeah, me too. Completely fuckin' ridiculous. Brought to you by Wolf Blitzer, Paula Zahn, Tucker Carlson (major-twinkie), ... the whole lot of 'em. Silly, silly people. Entertainment people... certainly not "News" people.

Anyway... while this dog & pony show has been monopolizing the airways I just thought I'd take this rainy day to pay attention a little.

43

43 more Americans were killed in Iraq this month.

How many since this nightmare began... since the people who manipulated a nation's fear started a wholly unAmerican, strategically misguided, historically ignorant and immoral war?

Okay, okay. Yeah. John Karr. Jonbenet. John Karr. Jonbenet. John Karr! All day! Every day!

Here are a few photos for a rainy day.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . ...okay, I've gotta stop now.

That's only 29 of the good people who died in Iraq this month alone... some as young as 19 years old.

.

.

(sigh)

.

.

Okay. Hey listen, if you have anything you wanna say about today's update, or if you have anything you wanna say about that new song I'm writing... anything about anything at all. Or if you're an artist who wants to say, "Hey" and let me know where you're playing, what you're playing and if you want me to play your stuff, (You following all this so far?) ...here's the phone number:

Maybe we'll play your comments on next week's "Wednesday Wake Up Call" or any of the other shows!

This weekend's musical guests are: Goat, Laura Clapp and Colleen Jameson. (Click on each of their photos to visit their websites, find out about them and where to get their music.)

. .

One mo' time! Here are a few shots from last weekend. (Click on the thumbnail for the larger image.)

. . . .
. . .

BTW... the sweet, sweet man in the last picture? That's my buddy Sid Bernstein. Yeah, yeah, yeah. The very man who changed the world and music forever by bringing the Beatles to America. (He hangs at "The Hill" in Central Park almost every week. Good, good friend.) Go ahead.... Google him. He's leading a remarkable life. Find his book and read it! It's callled "It's Sid Bernstein Calling".

Again, if you're new here... welcome. Hang out at the website a little while. Take a look around. Listen to the Podcast. It's a pretty cool installment of "I Love the Company" today.

ALSO, have you all gone to check out the MySpace page. And if you have... have you signed up as friends and contacts? I'm really exploring the whole MySpace thing to see if it's gonna be fun and worth the effort.

Let me know, okay?

Here's the link:

If you've been comin' around for a while, thanks for always showing up... here and in the park. And if you're brand new here, take a look around. There's a lot of cool stuff on this site. And, you can go back and listen through a whole bunch of the previous Podcasts. Actually... you can go back and listen to all of them if you have the time.

You can also email me about anything you want by clicking on that "Contact" button over there. I can't answer all the email I get these days. But I promise I read every single one.

Thanks again.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
