Hey... welcome to the website!

Listen, I've been playing out in Central Park for a looooong time. I'm a really lucky man. I would love it if you would help me take a look back over the past 14 years, help me celebrate them.... and, help me kick off the 15th years of music.

On MAY 1st, I'm gonna do a special gig at Birdland to do just that!

THE ANNIVERSARY/SUMMER KICKOFF GIG

I went down to Birdland last night like I often do on Monday nights... to sit in at Jim Caruso's Cast Party. (It really is a very cool hang. yououghta try it one of these weeks!)

But, I also wanted to tell the peoople down there about this special one-time concert I'm gonna do on May 1st.

(You're not gonna wanna miss this thing. It's in two weeks!!! It's treally not that big a place, so make reservations soon, okay?)

I mean... wouldn't it be somethin' if this is the last summer I'm playing music in Central Park!? Y'never know. I wanna treat every day like it's something really special... because it is. And, I would really like to share that feeling with you.

Here's the number: (212) 581-3080

If you feel like coming to help me commemorate all the wonderful summers we've shared together (sniff) there are lots of tickets still available. It's a little more swanky than most of the places I've played. But, what the hell! Get a little dressed up if you feel like it! I'll probably hafta wear a shirt. (No shoes!) Dinner or drinks and a look back at all the music that's come my way in Central Park is gonna be a helluva a one-time event. Treat yourself nice. Bring a date. Bring a friend. Come by yourself! Get tickets now and make a night of it. It's an early gig for a Monday night and that's cool, too. Show up, look around and hang with all the same faces you see in Central Park in the summertime!

Anyway... it's on MAY 1 at 7:00 (That's a monday night.) Gonna be a sweet way for all the "People on the Hill" to say goodbye to the winter and hello to another season in the park.

Y'think?

To make reservations, just visit the Birdland site or call: (212) 581-3080

I'm havin' a blast doing these shows thanks to the websmaster of this site, James Marino. The whole thing about me doing a show was basically his idea. He'd been following the goings on of Adam Curry, who is now being called the father of Podcasting or... "The Podfather". (rimshot)

I know that there are lotsa people who visit this site from different parts of the country and different parts of the world every day already. But, you really oughta be checking out the world of Podcasting. I'm gonna try to do my part to promote other people's shows... the same way I like to share the work of other artists with all of you guys at my gigs and on this site.

Y'know this summer, we're also gonna do video-casts from my various gigs around town, and you are all invited to be a part of the show. Keep checking back every day to find out more about that. I'm gonna have guest artists out there with me... and, you guys can shout out to your friends and family all around the world.

HA!

It's getting to be a very small world in so many ways. I know that scares some closed-minded people. But, to the open-hearted and the artists of the world... it's a very cool thing.

Okay... one last thing. James Marino (webmaster) sent me this a few days ago. I thought it was hysterical but frighteningly o the point and appropriate.

Yeah, Sister!

Okay, so... go over there and register in the "Forum" (message board) and let us know what you think of ILTC(I Love the Company). And, if you wanna email me about anything at all just hit the "Contact" button. (I can't answer all the email I get. but, I promise I read every single one!)

And, if you're new here, take a look around... have fun and go back through the "Archives" if you wanna see what this is all about. And, become a regular.

Seriously... check back every day, okay?

Okay... gotta go. Got a lot to do to get ready for another great season with all of you. If you see me on the streets of Manhattan today, say "Hey"!

Thanks again.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
