Hey guys...

Welcome to the website. Y'know, I am the LUCKIEST man on the face of the earth. I love making music, and I love my life. There are people stopping by this website everyday from all over the country and all over the world. I think that is very cool.

If you're new here, please take a look through the "Archives" and see what we're all about. We have alot of fun here. And, I don't hold back when I talk about what's goin' on in this country and the world. I sometimes put it in a song. It's who I am and what I do. I am an "independent" singer/songwriter.

And, if you live in or around New York City or are planning to visit here when the weather gets a little warmer, we'll all be out in Central Park again very soon... jammin' and diggin' the company.

Y'know, I write rock n roll, and folk, and ballads and love songs... and I even kick a little country around once in a while. Hey, have you guys been listening to the Podcasts that are out there already. There is a guy in New Jersey who's got a show on the internet called The Jersey Todd Show. It's a very cool thing and the man obviously loves music and the people who make it.

Well, Jersey Todd has been playing some of my tunes. Last week, he cranked up "JesusLand". (I love it when a whole new audience gets to share the stuff we've beeen kickin' around since last year. When I first made "JesusLand" available as a free download here at the website, Air America pickled it up right away and it got passed around the internet at lightning speed. I received emails from all over the country and the world about that one.

But, now with Podcasting, people are starting to play all kindsa stuff. "The People on the Hill" was the first song that was played on The Jersey Todd Show and because of him it's being played elsewhere. You can check out Todd's posts in the "Forum" ( message board) right over there on the right.)

But, also... yesterday... Adam Curry...

...who is now considered The PODFATHER of this new medium, played "Talk Louder" (The Cell Phone Song.)

A lot of you remember Adam as a pioneer "V-Jay" on MTV when it was brand new years ago. Well, now he's pioneering Podcasting. Another pioneer, James Marino the websmaster of this site, has talked me into jumping into one of the covered wagons and heading into this new frontier as well. So, we're ramping up for it now.

One of the things that will make my show a whole lot different than many out there is that I will do my best to promote other people's shows... just as I try to do at nmy gigs with other artists whose work I admire. Another thing is that, when we get out to the park we'll begin video-Podcasts that you can all be a part of if you show up. Should be very cool. Y'know, visitors from all around the globe will be able to point to the show and say, "Hey, I was there!" And, you will be able to tell your frineds and relatives wherever they are to check it out... kinda keep you close by sharing the experience and the music. It's getting to be a very small world. (Some people are afraid of that. I happen to think it's cool.)

Anyway... yeah.

Soon.

All kind of exciting stuff on the horizon.

Listen, I gotta get going early today. Got stuff to do downtown.

But, maybe I'll update this thing again in a little while. Check back, okay?

Um... it's important to mention again, that we are now in the FOURTH YEAR in this misguided and nightmarish war in Iraq. Please visit this update for a chance to "pay attention"... okay?

But for today? I hope you're all being cool to each other.

For now, here... here's a link to a FREE song I've been sharing with you guys lately... just to give you an idea of the awesome potential of your computer and what's possible on the internet.

(Just click on the photo to hear "A different Cowboy's Lament" and download it for FREE.)

.

Okay, gotta go.

Um, check back and I will also let you know what I decide about the "Forum". (Might be shutting it down again. I don't like what's been ging on in there lately.

.

Oh, and once again... THANK YOU! To all of you who are helping out with this year's Permit Fund.

Seriously. Very soon I'll try to send a personal "Thank You" email to every one of you, okay?

If you feel like helping out with this year's "Permit fund"... now would be a good time to do it. I put the paperwork and fees in for most of the permits to play on "The Hill" in Central Park already. If everything goes smoothly, and it doesn't rain like it did last Spring, we'll be hanging out together before you know it.

So if you feel like it, the webmaster has made it really easy. There are two buttons over there on the right. PayPal actually keeps a smaller percentage of your donation. But, either method is good.

But, only if you feel like it and only if you can afford to help out. Remember, it's most important to me that you show up... with or without your money.

If you feel like emailing me about anything at all, just click on the "Contact" button. I can't answer all the email I get. But, I promise I eventually read every single one. And listen, I know there are people reading this in different parts of the country and different parts of the world. If you're new here take a look through the "Archives" to see what we've been up to. There's alotta fun stuff in there... FREE songs to download, original political cartoons I've drawn... all kindsa stuff.

Thanks again.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
