Hey guys... welcome to the website.
If you're new here, would you do me a favor?
If you dig this site, would you turn a few more friends on to it? There are people reading this in different parts of the country and different paarts of the world already, I just think that's sooooo cool.
Thanks.
I get tons of email. And, I understand someone, someplace is playing "JesusLand" on XM radio. I'm wondering if it's my friend and colleaugue Christine Lavin. I know she has a great show on XM and that she was gonna play my new song, "A different Cowboy's Lament". (If you wanna download the cowboy song for free, just click on this link.)
Anyway, if you have XM radio, check her out. She's inventive, funny, a wonderful songwriter and a nice, nice woman. I hope she comes out to the park this year to hang with us. I'm hoping to have quite a few special guests out on "The Hill" in Central Park this Spring and Summer.

Y'know, along with the usual suspects like Dave Marcus I'd like to invite Chris Lavin, Sam Leopold, Cassandra Kubinski, David Abbinanti and some really kickin' female singers out there this year.
Speaking of Dave Marcus, he was cool enough to sit in with me at The Cutting Room last night. Thanks to the handful of you who made it down there. Man! It was lonely in that room. But, I had a good time with the few people who showed. (FREEEEEZZZZING cold night last night.) And, it was a little weird the way the whole thing was timed. I didn't actually get to do half the songs I planned on doing, or tell half the stories I wanted to tell. But, it gave me a germ of an idea for a special kind of night I wanna do. I've just gotta get to work on it.
Oh hey, listen... yes. Yes, I know I owe about a million of you email replies. I just moved from one apartment to another and the emails have backed up beyond the usual thousand that I'm always behind. So, I will start to make a dent on that this weekend, okay?
Like I always say, I cannot possibly answer all the email I get through this website. But, I promise that I read every single one and try to aanswer as many as I can. If you wanna get in touch for any reason, just hit the "Contact" button, okay?
Oh by the way... some people have been asking if I actually draw the cartoons I sometimes post on this site.
Yeah.
If I say it's an "original" cartoon, I just mean it's one of mine.
But, you guys can pass 'em around to whomever you like. I put them up here for you. There is a recent one on yesterday's update. If you hit the "Archive" button you can go get it. But, here are some others that were posted a while back. Click on the image for the larger version to print out.

I call them, "Damned Scooter!" - "The Wheels Came Off" - "'At's My Boy!" - "Who Knew Pants Really Catch Fire?"
(To independent and free-thinking folks... have fun with these little sketches. But, um... if you're one of the people who thinks that dissent or free speech is somehow "anti-American" or some shit like that... then, unfortunately you have NO idea what America is supposed to be about.)
And, by the way...
55 more Americans lost their lives in Iraq in the 28 days of February.
But, over 630 Iraqis died in the violence... just last month.
639 confirmed deaths... just one short month. 28 days. While you're watching "Desperate Housewives" and MSNBC is running stories about Condaleeza Rice's morning health workout... there is a war going on. A war that we started... for no legitimate reason.
Just thought I'd mention it today.
Okay, we've all got a day to live. We've all got a wonderful mystery to be lived... called... today. Let's see what this one's about, hah?
Oh yeah. And, once again... THANK YOU!
To all of you who are helping out with this year's Permit Fund.
Seriously.
It makes it easier.
Once I get settled in this new place I'll try to send a personal "Thank You" email to every one of you, okay?
If you feel like helping out with this year's "Permit fund"... now would be a good time to do it. I put the paperwork and fees in for most of the permits to play on "The Hill" in Central Park already. If everyting goes smoothly, and it doesn't rain like it did last Spring, we'll be hanging out together before you know it.
So if you feel like it, the webmaster James Marino has made it really easy. There are two buttons over there on the right. PayPal actually keeps a smaller percentage of your donation. But, either method is good.
But, only if you feel like it and only if you can afford to help out. Remember, it's most important to me that you show up... with or without your money.
Okay, gotta get to work.
Thanks again.
